The Weminuche Woodfire Grill

My friend and I decided to have lunch while her husband was celebrating Father’s Day with their son. We had not been to Weminuche since moving to Bayfield in 2021, so decided to give it a try. We arrived at 1:05pm, and seated immediately. Nice table looking out to the backside of the lake. Our server was very sweet and came to the table and took our order quickly. We both had cocktails waiting for our meal…..and waiting…..and waiting. We finally got our lunch an 1 1/2 hours later! I had the Bayfield Bleu w/fries. The food was very good, but having waited so long did not enjoy the lunch very much. One other family in that section waited just as long or longer. There were 5 empty tables around us. None of them cleared of food and trash in that hour. Trash blowing on the floor with wait staff walking right by it and never picking it up. We wanted more water and there were no condiments on the table. I couldn’t find anyone for assistance, so I went in search of someone. Got reprimanded for going in the wait staff section to get the bartenders attention. Upon finishing up lunch, I requested a manager. She arrived at the table with her hands locked behind her back. I told her the problems we had with the service and how long it took. She just stood there and shrugged. Her response was, “ I don’t know what to say. Anything I say or do won’t make you happy.” Seriously?! She did nothing about it. Not even an apology. Just the excuse that it was Father’s Day and holidays are very busy in there (as she went on to mention other holidays). I had to ask her to walk away. Having been a restaurant server for many years in a huge resort town, I was appalled by the entire experience. I know I will never go there again and being local, will never send anyone there or take friends there. We were going to have lunch at James Ranch in Durango, (our favorite place), but decided to try Weminuche instead. So very sorry and disappointed we didn’t go to James Ranch.

Terrible service and then managed to tell us there’s a required tip. AND do not order the sweet potato fries. Even the manager was rude.

Just across the street from Lonewolf Cabins. Such great good! My husband had a burger and it was very juicy and he loved it. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was amazing. The food portions are very generous. Dessert is on the way and I’m sure it’s delicious. We’ll come again!

TERRIBLE SERVICE - really terrible management, I feel horrible for anyone who has the misfurtune of working for these people. We were waiting 20 mintes, BEFORE 4 other tables where sat, got their meals and left. The woman who sat everyone did NOTHING to help the wait staff, of which there was only 1 waiter, until everyone was almost gone and done, when she created the problem in the first place. The reason for having people wait to be seated is to avoid issues like this. Then I had a man come to the table MAD at me for pointing out how in-appropriate this was. He made ZERO effort to see what was going on = terrible management AND terrible customer service! WOW!!!

Always liked the pizza until now. We ordered pizza tonight and both orders had hair in it. Never again will I eat there. Spend 100.00.

Beautiful location. Everything was great except the bacon on my son's pizza was charred. Not just overdone, inedible.

Such a great place with a very friendly atmosphere. The servers and Bartenders do a wonderful job with service with excellence.

This place is a hidden gem. Mallory is a really good waitress and Skyler is a great bartender. Everyone is super friendly and their bbq is awesome. Also the pizza is the best I’ve had. Great food great staff!!!!

Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps up on different levels. Inside is fairly easy to navigate if you can get your chair up and down the stairs.
