Enjoyed the live music in the bar. Very busy but still had great service. Friendly staff. A lot of people in Breckenridge were not friendly, which is odd for a tourist destination. So, Whiskey Star Smokehouse stood out and was worth a review. Had some great drinks and fun small plates.

The brisket was top notch. The pig shots were very tasty. When in Breckenridge again this will be my first stop.

Dare I say the best bbq in Breck. Jalepeno sausage had a great snap and smoky flavor. Brisket passed the flop test. It was moist and had a solid bark. Smoked Mac was great. Definitely not Kraft Mac and cheese like one guy said. It was cheesy and rich. The server we had was witty and knowledgeable (Brett). Recommend this place over other bbq joints in Breck

Fun place! Sat in the bar area later on a Saturday night. Had loaded baked potato with sliced brisket. It was okay. The potato was a little hard. The guy playing the guitar and singing was awesome!

I decided to make a little road trip up to Breckenridge—my first time visiting this charming mountain town—and quickly regretted not booking a room for the night. The streets were buzzing, the air was crisp, and to top it off, it was Bacon & Bourbon Weekend.

After wandering past what felt like an endless lineup of tempting eateries, my craving for BBQ won out, and I landed here. The experience was close to five-star worthy, with just one hiccup: the place was noticeably understaffed. That said, Brittany—the bartender who also doubled as my server—handled a packed bar and a floor of tables with grace. If she was stressed, you’d never know it. Her service, with its easy smile and unfaltering pace, was five stars on its own.

Now, the food. Let’s talk brisket. Their dry-rub brisket was melt-in-your-mouth perfection—tender, smoky, and seasoned so well it didn’t need a drop of sauce (though they did offer a solid lineup for those who like to dabble). If I could do it again, I’d order double the meat. The cornbread? Classic southern-style, crumbly but moist, just the way it should be. The mac and cheese was creamy and satisfying, though it stopped short of being unforgettable.

The vibe sealed the deal. Country tunes drifted through the space, and the bourbon and whiskey selection was nothing short of impressive. I could easily imagine this spot as the perfect evening hangout, a place to linger over good music and great drinks.

If work ever brought me to Breckenridge for a longer stint, this would no doubt become my go-to after-hours haunt.

Deliciousness on a tray! Had the ribs and brisket. Ribs slid off the bone, brisket was juicy. Both were smoked to perfection! Their meaty Mac n cheese is so good! I had mine with brisket. They set a high bar for smoked goodness!

A bit louder than I would have liked.. In general the food was mediocre/poor. Specifically the brisket was dry. The cornbread was TERRIBLE. I would not normally bother to comment on CORNBREAD but a restaurant should get the easy stuff correct, and cornbread is the easiest stuff. It was dry as dust and tasteless. Plain ole Jiffy cornbread from a box is 1000X better. SAD! What was worse, when I told the waiter and asked to sub it for creamed corn he said they wouldn't sub the cornbread for anything. COME ON NOW... I was just asking for CREAMED CORN... not filet or lobster.!!!!! Nuff said.

Great service. Ok BBQ. We are from Oklahoma where BBQ is a passion. The meat was decent but all the sauces were heavy on the vinegar. Not our taste.

We drove in from Denver and wanted some barbecue and dedicated to stop in. We were sat immediately, the service was good. The food however was disappointing. We spent over a hundred dollars and it just wasn't what we were expecting. The brisket was the only okay thing but we got the platter with burnt ends and they were pure salt - like couldnt eat it. The mac and cheese had no flavor or salt and it was greasy with barley any cheese, the queso tasted like melted velveta, and the beans had no flavor or salt either. To spend so much money and leave all of our appetizer and most of the sides felt like a waste of money. Wanted to like this place but just wasn't good for the price.
