Great steaks that are hand cut and very tender. The atmosphere has a great small town feel. The owner and her father are great people to chat with. Highly recommend.

If you are country folk or not country folk, this place is a gem—- great steak, FANTASTIC white gravy and country fried steak, delicious Potato appetizer and friendly service. This was such a delight to find on our way back to Oklahoma. We loved our experience in the John Wayne themed restaurant, a placed he’d proud of I’m sure! Five stars. Thanks for a great meal and an at-home atmosphere.

We are truck drivers and we love stopping here. Tender steak cooked perfectly rare Mashed potatoes are delicious. Service is fantastic. Old school restaurant that we hope never changes!!!

We stopped in Brush during a road trip and got lucky finding this place. They had chicken fried steak dinner on special, and it was perfectly cooked. We also tried a sirloin dinner, and that was equally good. The service was friendly and accommodating. If we come through this area again, we would definitely come back to True Grits!
Kid-friendliness: It was fun to look at all the John Wayne stuff with our kiddo.
Went there as a kid a several times when we moved to Colorado for a few years. Loved it . Glad to see it's still in business might need too make the drive from SC to eat there again !!!!

I'm new here in brush so I didn't know calling in an order was a big deal but the waitress who toke the order was rude and let me know she really didn't want to do a call in order. When I got the sirloin it was so delicious I must admit. When it came time for my salad I noticed that someone had already been eating it .I just couldn't believe it .family owned are not. I feel anyone in the food industry should only serve a customer what you yourself would eat. everything elas was good next time I'll have to go though my order before I leave have a good day ?
