The comment to emphasize first is they charge a 3.9% service fee if you don’t pay cash. Who pays cash at a restaurant?Colorado law allows a max of 2%, it must be posted at the establishment (it isn’t) and must be isolated on your receipt (it’s not). When I asked our server about it, I got the typical “I just work here” answer, which is fine coming from seemingly a high school kid. She said she’d get the owner. When I spoke to the owner I said I wanted to bring it to her attention that she’s charging more than the allowed %, and I got an “everyone is charging it” answer, which is false. No offer to try to make it right, just a “tough luck” attitude. I have been to many other restaurants in the area and this is the first time I’ve seen it. Owner also said it wasn’t her fault, it was automatic in the POS system. That is the owner’s responsibility to make sure it’s right.

The food…

A medium rare order came out overcooked, and was more fat than lean. I had to spit out grisly fatty chunks into my napkin.

There seems to be no dress code for the servers—Jean shorts, old t-shirts and gym shoes while paying $25 for a plate of food, I would expect better. Won’t be eating there again.

Had the 15oz. filet, it was the best meal I have ever had in my entire life!!! If I were on death row about to die, and I had once choice, this would be it!

Food has gone way down hill . We were so disappointed this time around. Had to send the wife's steak back then it was burnt and tasted like liver ...really. all of our baked potatoes were half cooked and had to ask for refills

I followed a Reddit recommendation for “Best food in Buena Vista” and they let me down. Worst prime rib I’ve ever had. It was cooked correctly but it had ZERO seasoning and the Au Jus was flavorless. I spent the whole meal dumping salt on every piece. “Loaded” potato was just a glob of butter and bacon bits. Salad was pretty good though ngl. L steakhouse.

After reading the review of the screaming in the kitchen a few weeks prior, we were rather hesitant to enter, but couldn't find another restaurant for our evening meal that was more than sandwiches or burgers. We were told upon entry only Prime Rib was being served on this Friday night, or the few specials on the board. We didn't really want the prime rib, but one of the specials looked good, so we were seated. Don't you know, the special, we were interested in was not available after all. So we went with the prime rib and ordered it medium well. It looked pretty pink, but it was cooked enough to be edible. The baked potato was great. The mac and cheese was pretty good. The margarita was way too sweet with triple sec, I guess. We barely drank that. The waitress was very attentive at first then pretty much left us alone until we were totally done eating. So we couldn't ask her to take the meat back to cook it longer. The help wanted sign in the window was there for a reason, I suppose. Meaning they were understaffed and the waitresses were all very busy. In all, not a place we'd revisit if ever in the area again.

I’ve been a fan of Quincy’s ever since my first meal in Leadville years ago, so I was thrilled to discover they also have a location in Buena Vista. Quincy’s is all about beef, and they do it exceptionally well. Whether it’s a perfectly cooked filet or a flavorful ribeye, the meat is consistently tender, tasty, and lean enough without losing richness.

They offer cuts in different sizes, so whether you’ve got a big appetite or prefer something lighter, there’s an option that fits. The baked potato, loaded with butter and sour cream, is simply heavenly. Add in a crisp, fresh salad and a slice of bread to soak it all up, and you’ve got a meal that’s both simple and outstanding.

Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Honestly, if Quincy’s were right next to my home, I’d probably eat there every night.

Kind of odd that a Steak House only serves one kind of steak. Felay. It was a little dry.

Prepare to wait 5-10 minutes after being seated to be acknowledged by wait staff. Prepare to wait another 10 minutes before receiving your drink order. Be ready to sit patiently for 10 minutes after receiving the check to have your payment processed. This is with only 2 tables seated. If they're busy, expect longer wait times for everything

Nice dark and quiet steak joint. Limited menu but nice options. They were short on staff but communicated well. I would go back
