DO NOT RENT EQUIPMENT FROM RIVER RUNNERSWe had a fun ride on the river, but the whole experience has been completely tarnished by two ringworm infections (and subsequent treatment costs) that River Runner's negligence has caused. We went in early spring and it was COLD. Which brought to us renting their wetsuits and river boots. We were led into the changing room which had no privacy dividers and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. We were instructed to remove all clothing under the wetsuits including our underwear. This led to the wetsuit rentals being up against our bare skin and yeah long story short, we contracted ringworm from the wetsuit rental. Ringworm is a fungal infection that thrives in moisture. And let me tell you, this company does nothing to try and prevent the spread of pathogens, bacteria, or fungus. We witnessed them "washing" the wet suits. They were simply churning them in a large bucket, with a stick. In the rain. The water they were using to "wash" them looked cold, and had few visible suds. They then hung the suits up to "dry" in the rain. We didn't witness this until after our journey was over, but our guide did see fit to make a joke while we were on the river about how ringworm complaints were down once they "started washing the wetsuits." In my mind this comment tells me River Runners is content with their unhygienic practices. I would strongly urge everyone to never rent any equipment from River Runners. Go in summer when it's warm enough to use your own equipment, and you should be fine.Also, one final note to anyone not convinced, ringworm is very expensive and arduous to heal. The treatment has cost me far more than the cost of our tickets in anti fungal topicals alone.

Fantastic experience for our family of four. Our two kids, ages 11 & 13 absolutely loved their first whitewater adventure with this company. We did Browns Canyon with Class 3 rapids and found it to be the perfect fit- challenging but still fun (and everyone stayed in the raft). Our guide was Travis and we all enjoyed his helpful tips for first timers, history tidbits along the way, and his technical abilities to make our ride fun and safe. We’ll be back!

10 STARS. Did the half day Browns Canyon. Very fun. I am in my 60s, so I was a little unsure if I was going to be able to match the physicality of the younger folk on the raft, but I did it. Caleb was a great guide- loved his mellow vibe, even after he had to haul one of ours out of the river. Very professional and knowledgeable people and a great gift shop too. Pictures are taken for you and can be purchased at the shop. Pricey but these are great shots. Get them.

This was a great experience! Our guide Travis was very knowledgeable so you learn a bit along the was. I was not prepared on how you have to sit in the boat I thought it was weird how you have to sit but it works. If you want to do this but you are afraid I recommend River Runners intermediate level. It was actually calm and and the rough spots aren't that bad. 10/10 recommend it!

We had a blast yesterday with our family. Our grown kids had rafted before but my husband & I had not. Our guide Paul was wonderful and informative! Our son loved jumping in! Our daughter’s boyfriend even jumped & he doesn’t like heights! Our kids grew up going to Lake Cumberland and jumping off cliffs. Highly recommend River Runners, we researched rafting outfitters & chose them. We will be back!

Our family had a wonderful time floating Brown’s Canyon with River Runners Outfitters. The reservation and check in process was very informative and professional. Our guide, Carson, was very knowledgeable of the river and the rapids. He kept us all safely in the boat. We stopped for cliff jumping and lunch which was provided for the full day trip. We highly recommend using River Runners and definitely will book with them again.

Great family experience with an awesome guide (Ben). As a visitor from Ireland it was an amazing thrill ride with beautiful scenery too. A cold beer and some quesadillas afterwards finished off the day perfectly
Did the happy hour float with Khalil during high flow. It was a great trip, even though my arms ached by that evening due to my poor technique. It was just the me and my husband and 3 employees on the trip. We had a great time together. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful. Wet suits and boots came with the reservation. If you do the happy hour teip, drinks are half price at the little bar and grill, which was awesome. We relaxed, had some drinks, food, and watched the river rush by. Will definitely go again!

We have rafted on the Colorado and now in the Arkansas rivers in Colorado and drove down from Avon. I’m a BIG fan of the Arkansas and I would say that River Runners were superb. Our guide Kai was awesome. All 6 of our rafts were together and they were all super professional. 10 out of 10 I would raft with River Runners again!

We did the one night overnight in Browns Canyon. Kenny, Claudia and Dominick were amazing! They were awesome raft guides and incredible at the campsite - cooking and cleaning up dinner and breakfast, and generally making us feel welcomed. The rapids were super fun and the scenery was gorgeous. Overall, a great, great trip and the overnight portion was the best part. Don't do the day trip, do the overnight!

We did the family raft (class 1 -3) yesterday with our guide Sam. He was the perfect guide. We had a party of 9, 4 kids and 5 adults. My daughter was scared at the beginning and was crying. He talked with her and helped her overcome fears. He even said he was scared of humming birds at one point to help her. His knowledge, expertise and calmness was very much appreciated.
