I wanted to bad to love this place. I saw that it had great reviews in general, but I should've read the more recent reviews. We were passing through BV for a birthday getaway and I saw they offer gelato and coffee. Boy was I excited to get an affogato. Sadly, on our way in after checking the hours online, we parked, only to find the shop was closed. As a small business owner myself, I know it's not difficult to update business hours on Google. But, no problem, it's a small town, small business, we'll try again the next morning.My husband and I walked up to the coffee shop labeled with decals of the offerings (espresso and gelato). Again, I was so looking forward to the affogato. Walking in, the decor was minimal. I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the ice cream freezer was empty and didn't even look to be plugged in. I asked if they were still doing affogatos. The gentleman behind the counter said they were "phasing out the gelato". OK.... well we were already there and skipped our morning coffee in anticipation of this coffee shop. So I ordered the Sonoran and asked for almond milk instead of regular milk. To my disappointment, they were also out of almond milk. So this coffee shop didn't have gelato as advertised on the outside of the building and no almond milk, which to me is a staple milk alternative. After leaving my husband commented on how dirty overall the place was.This place was a huge disappointment overall. I wanted to love it, but they didn't even give me a chance to.

This place is normally my fave as the Sonoran latte is AMAZING! Last visit however my latte had so much syrup and the cayenne had been left out completely. So sad. Normally I highly recommend this place to friends.

Alas, this great cornerstone of Bueno Vista’s culture has fallen into disrepair and mediocrity. I was once in love with this pinnacle of hospitality and quality, but as the tide of new ownership has swept through, all recognition of this beautiful bastion of culture has been shattered.I am from Colorado Springs and would frequently come through BV on my way to other places, and would stop at Midland. It was a treat, a solid quality cappuccino in a mountain town of burnt espresso. No longer is this a place of pride, it is a place of shame and regret. Oh how the great have fallen. They now have two sizes of cappuccino, the single most telling mark of poor standards.My last stop at Midland was one of charm and bliss. I got a cappuccino and an affogato, and sat enjoying the beautiful location. Now I have stopped and been repulsed by the Cortado handed to me. We’ve all had burnt marshmallows before. Remember the smell, the taste. Imagine that you have placed a marshmallow into the fire, and even while it burns, you keep it there. You don’t pull it out, blow it off, and salvage the sweetness. No, you leave it there like a deranged blacksmith, until it is no more than a bitter black shell dangling on the end of your stick. Now you eat it, taste it. Mmmm, being a deranged individual, you enjoy it.Now imagine paying $5 for it. Is it still enjoyable, or are you deviant? If you make a stop at the Midland Stop, you will be able to experience the exact flavor of a charred marshmallow, but in liquid form, and for a premium price. Midland is no longer a place of dreams, but of nightmares.

Very nice place by the Arkansas river, and great coffee. The barista knows how to make original flat whites (rare in the US). They open early which was very appreciated after a run around the river. Their food choice seems very limited but we only needed coffee. Outside and inside sittings were very nice and
Super friendly and coffee is really well crafted. I order a dirty chai with golden milk, best I’ve had in the country, from coast to coast! They make the chai in house too! Scones are perfect texture, the ingredients across the board feel clean as does the entire place and it’s a great location!

Surprisingly bad service here. The shop is in an area of Buena Vista (South Main) where it doesn't get too busy yet it definitely felt like we were imposing by ordering coffee. Next time, we will take the walk to Main St from the Surf Hotel.

The haus chai was amazing! Although, they had pretty much no pastries when I stopped by which I was pretty disappointed about. Service was a little slow too. Maybe I'll try them again but I've been happier with other coffee shops in this area
