By far the best restaurant in Buena Vista. Excellent small plates, lovely cocktails, nice atmosphere and our server Ashley was honestly the best. Definitely will be back

Great service and excellent food . If you love cheese you can't go wrong with the baked cheese dish or French onion soup!

First time dining here & I'm not sure I can say enough good things. This was immaculate. From the service to the food, the whole experience was phenomenal. We were greeted right away, sat right away, & out server, Faith, was absolutely excellent. She was friendly, immediately asked if we were celebrating any event(s) or if we had any allergies. She recommended amazing drinks & encouraged us on our choices for dinner.
The table had the cheese skillet, The Bianco, the Surf Burger, & kid's pasta (with cookies, lemonade & fruit included!), & the Crème Caramel & an affogato for dessert. Nothing was bad; it was all so, so delicious, well-balanced, & full of flavor. This is the place.
Looking forward to my next visit.

Kid-friendliness: They have an adorable, colorable kid's menu with classic options.

I was so excited to try this place but was beyond disappointed. We were staying at the hotel so we entered from the hotel side, not the side with the hostess stand. When I asked the bartender how we could sit outside, she told me, with a side of attitude, that I needed to talk to the host. The staff was all just standing around, gossiping, as if their summer of work was finally over and they could now ignore everyone who was still booked there. The exception would be my outside server who was sweet and pretty attentive.

Now for the food. Disgusting is the only word for it. We ordered the baked cheese appetizer and added artichokes to it. When it came out, it looked amazing on top but was cold and watery underneath. Not too mention, no flavor. We sent it back and attempted to try the calamari instead. It was beyond basic and just as tasteless as the dip. After sending that back as well, we gave up. They have some decent drinks but not for the price we paid.

This place seems like one of the fancier options in town. It's a beautiful restaurant with a lovely river running by it. It would behoove you to step up your game.

Thank goodness we had tickets to The Lariat that night. With incredible food and drinks and amazing service, do yourself a favor and eat there instead.

Poor service from the host/hostess. We walked in and said “hi table for two please” which somehow confused the hostess and a young man who seemed new. It took longer than it should to get the message across that we’d like to eat here please. There would be a 15 minute wait. No problem, we were the only ones waiting for a table, and we asked to use the restroom while we wait. As we returned, we saw another party of two walk right in and get seated. At this point they finally took our contact info to let us know when our table was ready.
After a few minutes they let us know our table was ready. They sat me and my wife at a table with one chair and a tiny window booth seat. We were confused wondering if we were meant to sit there, or was it a purely decorative seating area. There was nobody else in the restaurant seated in such a way which made us feel awkward and out of place. So we left and went to Eddyline.

The elk rack was amazing, and I highly recommend the parm truffle fries. Excellently seasoned and cooked to perfection. Although the front door hostess had to ask about my service dog. It didn't seem a huge deal, and they were kind enough to park us in a quiet corner. The scrumptious apple berry crisp I took back to the hotel for dessert was such a big portion, I had dessert and a snack for later. This is the best food I've had out of BV to date, and I look forward to eating here again on my next visit.

Awesome little bar in the lobby of the Surf Hotel in Buena Vista. Got a drink and went out to our patio and watched the river. Highly recommend the Julip with fresh mint.

During the day while soaking in the 106F natural hot springs at the Charlotte Hot Springs in Buena Vista, we asked a local for his recommendation of his favorite dinner restaurant - he said to try the Surf Hotel restaurant. What a nice quiet friendly place. Our waitress (Faith I believe was he name) was cheerfully attentive. The food was a beautiful work of art and perfectly cooked. Our dessert was Carrot cake; bite after bite reminded me of our custom wedding carrot cake some 40 years ago... all was incredible.
We're going back!

Order the parm and parsley “truffle” fries!!!!!! We were weary travelers eating after 9pm. Only two restaurants open at this time. Waitress and hostess were incredible. Thanks to Danielle we were served a great meal!!!! Will come back! Surf Hotel’s restaurant and bar.

Parking: A bit tricky streets very narrow. We were pulling a trailer and went around the block once. Should have parked in the parking lot but Google took us directly to the doors of the restaurant.

After waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes was told “we cannot sit you because the kitchen is behind” when there are 4-5 empty tables and we are next up in the waitlist. Unbelievable - can’t sit and order drinks? Terrible service. Maybe train the gen z moron running the iPad a little bit.

My wife and I are both vegan and they have a tremendous selection. The bar is very good particularly with their selection of Bourbons. The Ambiance is first class and it's nice to take a walk by the Arkansas River following dinner
