My friends and I stopped in today for some food and drinks and the guy working was very rude and made us feel uncomfortable. It only had a few patrons and when we walked in there wasn't any direction on whether we needed to seat ourselves or what so we asked and he said he was the only one working and asked us to wait. As he passed through us as we we waiting for and answer he said you all are stressing me out and proceeded to the kitchen area. We didn't say anything and continued to wait. I proceeded to walk outside to smoke a cigarette and my friend walked out back to check out the area and as I was motioning to my other friends as to where my one friend had gone the guy saw this and apparently thought it had to do with him and mad a snide laugh. With the rude customer service don't waste your time or money. I will never go back.

My wife and were coming back from a mountain trip and decided to forgo breakfast where we were staying and instead get something on different on the way home. A quick Google search landed us at the Mad Hatter Saloon.

We pulled up and wondered what we were in for as it looks like a biker bar of some kind on the side of a busy highway. It's alright, we may not fit in, but we were there.

We got inside and the gentleman told us we could sit wherever we'd like so we took a seat at small four-top near to the small kitchen. The barkeep/waiter brought us a menu and took our drink order.

The menu was small and concise and we decided to stick with breakfast. We were hungry and greedy so, quite literally, we order one of everything from the short breakfast menu.

The food came out relatively quickly and looked pretty good. While it came out on paper plates and trays, it befitted the establishment and actually presented well the perfectly prepared food which was on it. The biscuits and gravy are a must if you go. The gravy was just the right consistency with perfect seasoning that was both sweet and peppery. The Mad Hatter french toast was a bit unexpected. Seemed to be a lemon poppyseed bread that was almost like a muffin which was cooked in french toast batter. A bit sweet, but different enough that it kept us engaged. The breakfast tacos were also great. They cooked the outside of the soft tortillas so they were just barely crunchy and they help the contents of the taco firmly and with fear that they would fall apart.

The barkeep was busy, but he was very friendly and attentive even though he was running around a lot. We'd stop back in if we were in the area again.

Mad Hat's off to the cooks.

Rare 1 star review from me. Walked in with my family as a 7 top. Was immediately told by the host or server that I couldn't bring my bottle of water in. 🤦🏽‍♂️ we decided to turn around and leave as that is a clear indication of the level of service we would receive.

Re: The signage says Bust, Co Population 2. I pass by this place all the time. We were indeed told by the staff member that I couldn't bring my water in. Also, the response from the ownership speaks for itself. Its totally cool, we went up the road to Manitou and ate somewhere else.

This place used to be so great but now it takes so long to get service. There is now 1 bartender/ server and 1 cook that can't see. Last year it was my favorite place. Now I say probably go to the blue moose or anywhere else.

We stayed at a campground nearby and saw this place on our way in. We decided to go here for dinner and drinks and are so happy we did. It was the highlight of our day. Our server was so amazing, she was the only one bartending and serving and did such a great job. She was quick and on top of it. The food was amazing. We got brisket tacos, a Ruben, and a side of onion rings and it was all so good. The view from the patio is unbeatable, especially when the sun is setting. Another plus is we were aloud to bring our dog inside or outside. Thank you guys for the amazing experience.

After a full day of hiking through the stunning red rocks of Garden of the Gods and the waterfalls at Seven Falls, we stumbled upon the Mad Hatter Saloon, and what a find it was!

We kicked things off with a Bloody Mary that hit all the right notes...bold, zesty, and perfectly garnished. From there, the food sealed the deal. The BBQ ribs and brisket were smoked to perfection...tender, flavorful, and clearly fresh from the pit. The brisket tacos brought a creative and delicious twist, packing in all the smoky goodness with a Tex-Mex vibe.

We sat in the outdoor bar area, surrounded by Colorado mountain air and good energy. The atmosphere was made even better by the firepits and Adirondack chairs crafted from old skis and snowboards—such a fun and unique touch that gives the place a local, adventurous charm.

And we can’t forget to mention Larry, the fantastic bartender (might have been the owner). His warm welcome, great conversation, and attention to every detail made the experience even more memorable. You can tell he puts heart into this place, and it shows!

If you're in the area, make sure to stop by the Mad Hatter Saloon. Great drinks, incredible food, and a vibe that perfectly blends mountain-town charm with laid-back hospitality.
