Duke’s Steakhouse has a nice atmosphere and solid quality food, but overall the experience felt a bit off balance. The biggest issue is the portion sizes — they are massive, to the point where it feels unnecessary. The meals could easily be half the size, half the cost, and honestly make more sense.
While the food itself was decent, the pricing doesn’t feel justified given how much ends up being wasted. The service was fine, nothing standout but nothing terrible either.
This would be a much stronger spot if they focused more on right-sized portions and value instead of sheer quantity. As it stands, it’s okay, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for.

We had dinner at Duke’s Steakhouse in Lone Pine and came away with mixed but mostly positive feelings.
The decor is decent. There’s a clear split between the bar on one side and the dining room on the other. The space feels casual and unpretentious, which fits the town. That said, the restaurant side was incredibly loud. It may have been the seat we were given at the end of the booth seating, but I could barely hear my wife sitting across from me. Conversation was a challenge the entire meal.
The food itself was good, especially for the price. This is definitely cheaper than a typical steakhouse, and you can tell they’re aiming for solid value. The steak was cooked perfectly, exactly as ordered, and the beer was cold. That alone goes a long way.
The vegetables were the weak point. They tasted like frozen vegetables that had been reheated or overcooked, and my guess is the former. They weren’t terrible, just clearly not fresh or thoughtfully prepared.
The hostess was very kind and quite young. When we arrived at 5:28, she told us our reservation was for 5:30 and that we’d need to wait two minutes. It rubbed me the wrong way at first, but after thinking about it, it felt more like inexperience than attitude. Overall, she was polite and welcoming.
If you’re looking for a reasonably priced steak, cooked well, with a cold beer in a casual setting, Duke’s does the job. If you’re looking for a quieter, more intimate steakhouse experience where you’re spending a bit more for atmosphere and conversation with your spouse, this probably isn’t the place.
Solid food, good value, but the noise level and sides keep it from being a go to date night spot.

Dukes started off shaky, but went right up from there. We had made reservations, and arrived minutes before. The hostess said we couldn't be seated until our time, which was TWO minutes away. We sat and waited for almost 15 minutes while they seated other parties. Ok, we chalked that up to the fact that she was very young.
Once we were seated, we got water right away from our great server, Toby. He brought out our drink orders quickly, took our app and food orders, and brought the bread right out. He checked on us often, but not TOO often. He offered dessert, brought coffee, got our bill to us, wished us good night.... He was a great server throughout our meal.
The food was great! The pretzel bread was so good, soft and flavorful, and the pesto honey butter was great! The French Onion Soup definitely lived up to the hype. I got the filet with the scallops and shrimp. The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The seafood was tender and juicy. The sweet potato was hot and nicely baked, served with butter and brown sugar, on the side. The steamed vegetables were mediocre at best. They were hot and tender, but completely unseasoned. The key lime pie was tart and tasty, and thankfully NOT lime green. The coffee was hot and fresh.
The only downside was the noise. We were right in the middle of the open area, so we were bombarded with a full dose of all the table conversations around us. And it seemed to be where the manager and the employees would survey the room and make plans. !
Overall, it is a great family restaurant and we will definitely go back. I will ask for a quiet table next time, but otherwise, it was all good

Great food, solid establishment in an otherwise ‘quality restaurant desert’ area.

We had family in from another country and decided to go to Duke's Steakhouse for dinner. Our waitress, Kathy, was amazing. She went above and beyond and explained in detail, everything we ordered. The food came out in a timely manner and was outstanding. Thank you so much to the outstanding staff at Duke's Steakhouse. We will definitely be back again. :)

Parking is not particularly easy at Duke's but once you get inside the service, food and drinks are worth it! Our server Evan was very efficient, kind and very accommodating! One thing, if you order the pork chop make sure and specify you only want the one. The menu says you can add a second for $14 so I figured if I didn't ask for the second they would serve just the one, that is not the case however. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and have been dining at Duke's since they were down by the bowling alley in southern castle Rock, we love it!

Phone kept ringing during our lunch and it was super loud! My husband’s chicken sandwich said blackened but did not have any blackened spices. We waited a long time for food and service. We had to take some ketchup from another table because we didn’t know when our server would return.
