Had the carne asada nachos, carne asada tacos, al pastor tacos, and shrimp tacos. The worst part was they don’t give you salsa. I asked the server for salsa for my tacos and she said they don’t have any and pointed to the bottles of hot sauces
at the table. I can’t go eat sit down tacos and Mexican food and not have salsa available. Shrimp tacos were the worst - boiled small shrimp with a mound of cabbage. No flavor. Pastor and asada tacos without salsa was very mediocre. I will say the place gives generous portions of meat with the tacos. If the place decided to get a salsa game, some of the meat tacos could be worth going back for. Hopefully they do.

If you’re looking for a homey yet modern Mexican establishment, tacos and tequila is the place! I came here with my family and Quinn and Shauna treated us like family. They recommended their favorites and nothing disappointed, the quesabirra quesadilla was to die for. We also loved the shrimp and carne asada tacos, everything was the perfect portion size for a reasonable price. Make sure to ask for the skinny jalepeno marg as well if you love spicy! A new spot for the weekly rotation

My girlfriend and I were distracted by the low quality burritos the entire meal. For $15 they had whole black beans, crunchy rice, an aftertaste of freezer burn, and dry, unmarinated pork (I wouldn’t call it carnitas…). I only ate half the burrito before deciding it was more trouble than it was worth. The service was fine, and the chips were the one redeeming food item. We won’t be back - there are many authentic and delicious Mexican restaurants in Denver. This isn’t one of them.

Love this place! My first time here and was pleasantly surprised.

We decided to try out Tacos and Tequila for the first time while our family was visiting. It wasn't busy but the waitress acted like serving our party of 6 was the last thing she wanted to do. We ordered chips and salsa when she asked what kind of salsa we wanted we said we would try them all and she immediately stated she wouldn't do that. We explained that we hadn't been there before and asked if she would actually give us some direction on what we were supposed to do. She did recommend combining 2 of the salsas that was pretty tasty. The service didn't improve through the rest of our meal. The food was fine and so were the drinks. We wouldn't bring visitors back until we saw some big changes.

Watch the prices. Several times I've noticed more on the receipt than on the menu. Sometimes they fix it, sometimes not. Also, ask about their salsas before you order. Two are really weird (habanero and mushroom, I think) and the others are maybe 5 out of 10 for me.

That said, their birria is really good and their margaritas are cheap during happy hour
