The owner Tal is just such an amazing human bean! Truly enjoyed our experience, the coffee is incredible and it’s a true reflection of him and his passion for what he does!! I bought a couple bags, I can’t wait to get home and make me some delicious cups of coffee! 🩷
We've tried many coffee brands over the years, and Whiskey Barrel Coffee varieties are the best! Rich, mellow flavor, satisfying on their own and that still comes through when cream & sugar are added. We need search no more, these are just excellent.
Anything but a 5 star review would be atrocious. This is not a brick and mortar and I was not aware. Right place and right time rewarded my wife and I a rare experience where we were treated with royality-like hospitality. Old school person to person interaction. Ill never buy coffee from any other company again.
Hands down one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had was visiting the Commerce City roastery!
My wife planned a little trek to Whiskey Barrel Coffee for my birthday to pick up a bunch of beans, not really knowing that we’d end up spending several hours learning and hanging out with Tal. He is truly a master of his craft and his passion is contagious—we honestly didn’t expect to have such an amazing time and yet that’s exactly how it shook out!
Their coffee is diverse and of course, quite delicious. If you’re a whiskey and coffee drinker, this is your spot/brand. The barrel aged coffees are quite distinct and not overpowered whatsoever by the whiskey. And for a more day-to-day brew, his dark roasts are on point; Old School has quickly become a household favorite, along with their Italian roast.
It’s hard to find an authentic coffee roaster who hasn’t succumb to large scale production (which in turn diminishes quality), so a find like Tal and his Whiskey Barrel operation is truly a treasure.
Hopefully this review merely confirms your gut feeling! We certainly plan to rerun.
Amazing coffee!
Love the Espressomatica and Blacksmith , non-barrell-aged whole coffee beans! We order them 5lbs of each every ~ 2 months. We stopped by the shop on 1/17/2025 because Google hours of operation said they were open. We were disappointed that they are by appointment only. We were hoping to get a cup of coffee while visiting. It was a bummer for us, but we will continue to order online and have the beans delivered! 🤩
Tal knows how to roast coffee. You will not be disappointed.

I found Whiskey Barrel Coffee about 3 years ago when I was at one of my favorite breakfast spots in Winter Park & Fraser Chamber - Colorado, and had to know where they got their coffee. I jumped on their website and ordered a 5 pound bag for the house. As a family we love their coffee, the smoothness, great taste and consistency every batch. My oldest now orders it for her office.

Best coffee on planet earth! No if’s, and’s or but’s. …..And I’m a guy that consumes *A LOT* of coffee!
Tal (the owner) and Golan are amazing. Tal accommodated a tour and tasting on a Saturday morning. WBC is focused on one goal: to make the best coffee possible. There are no gimmicks or shortcuts; the dedication and respect for the craft comes through during the tour. Their whisky coffee is the apotheosis of the style; complex and layered. However, their blends are well priced allowing for more subtle 'whisky' notes. They also offer classic line of traditional coffee. At the end of the tour, there's a lounge where Tal will serve you whatever caught your eye during the tour using a lever machine for that perfectly pulled shot (you can buy what you liked at the end). If you drink coffee, you owe it to yourself to come visit (you can also buy online). 10 out of 10.
Love their nitro cold brew I see around town. And I am a big advocate of their unique style of roasting in small batches. Tal is such a cool guy and WBC is a must have if you’re a coffee fanatic like myself
Incredible coffee. We had such an amazing experience. Small batch operation and the people involved are genuinely passionate about what they do and the interaction they provide. Tal was such a kind and knowledgeable host. We left already wanting to plan our next visit. Make an appointment and take home a bag or bottle - you won't regret it!!! Truly, I can't say enough good things about what an overwhelmingly positive experience we enjoyed.
Super friendly and amazing coffee!
