The atmosphere and the food were amazing but the service was a little lacking. Would recommend a stop if you're in Cortez.

Arrived and was greeted fairly quickly, and seated. Ordered and we got our food in 10-15 minutes, which is not bad at all. However, one member of our group's meal was entirely forgotten and only checked back on us later on, for us to remind them of their food. Maybe another 10 minutes and their food finally arrived.

It's busy, but we are just about the only folks in the dining room. I do think that this probably isn't common here, but it does lower my rating a bit.

Lots of places to sit and eat and watch sports. A jukebox. Small stage up at the entrance, though it was empty during our visit.

Long hours are appreciated, and not too common in the area it seems. I do think this place is worth stopping in at for a meal or a drink.

Nice atmosphere and great food smells called us in. Restaurant is woefully understaffed, but friendly servers. Took over an hour to get our great food! Would go back if service was available.

A reasonably affordable night out. Got to eat and get rightly hammered for less than forty bucks. Food was good, arrived quickly the way I asked, despite it being a busy night. Friendly staff, friendly patrons, Western Colorado style. I would readily give this establishment my patronage again if I visit Cortez, though I don't usually visit Democrat-controlled states out of habit.

A little loud if you want to have conversation, but can’t beat the food or the service. I haven’t had that large or delicious a basket of fish and chips in decades! The BLT salad was massive as well, taking my lunch partner off guard. Well worth the effort. Huge number of burgers I have yet to try. This could take a while.

Great staff and bartender. Skip to everything fast and refreshing, lots of games including pool and Air hockey. A great sounding DJ was getting ready to spin up another set as we were leaving.

EDIT: Talked to one of the servers that has been there for a long time (and one of the few that I listed as the experienced but undersupported) and glad to have a face-to-face about the place. I'll be going in to chat with management at some point to clarify my review in hopes it helps them understand my experiences here. Holding out hope!

Original review: I'm local and tried so many freaking times to give this place chances, especially because I like their food, which is above average pub grub. Greasy and salty, how i like it. But this place.... Cortez already has limited options for dining out. But they never answer the phone for togos in the evening, firstly. That I can get over. Maybe they're busy? Well, except when they just hang up the phone without answering.

But, more than that, the service in-house is AWFUL. There are maybe 3 employees who I've ever seen hustle or show any effort (I'm a server, I know what that looks like and give them a lot of patience because I've totally been there) but are perpetually unsupported by any other staff. All the other employees look like they haven't even graduated high school. They also act like it - intoxicated behind the bar and unable to do their jobs. I've watched them lose all control over their bar with the people they clearly overserved.

Damnit, the food is great on a night I don't want to cook, but it is just not worth spending that much money for crap service and poor ethics.

Returned boneless chicken wings. Overcooked and inedible. Waitress was very nice about it.

Honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had. I got the Fritter and my husband got the open face Mac and cheese burger! The service was pretty good. Fun environment. I’d recommend this place to friends and family for sure!

Our waitress suggested the blistered shishito peppers and they were amazing! We also got the potato skins, turkey melt with green chile, and the smothered burrito. Great bang for your buck with speedy drink refills, and large, delicious portions. Parking was a bit tricky, and we did wait a bit longer for the food to come out, but if you have time for a long lunch, this place is a must try!
