We went there for lunch, traveling through town, and a buffet was set up for all to eat, or you could order off of the menu. My friend and I ordered off of the menu. I had the Spicy Tofu, with veggies, and even though it wasn't very spicy, it as great. It also provided a salad, an egg roll, and steamed rice. There were other vegan options too, but I didn't want to order off of the dinner menu. Another reviewer mentioned Eggplant in hot garlic sauce, and Broccoli in hot garlic sauce. I didn't look at the Kung Pao Tofu, but that may be vegan too.

Sept 2025. Excellent food. Excellent service. A real surprise.

On our second night in Cortez, we wanted to try something different. We saw the Hunan driving in, and decided to give them a try based on their reviews.

The place appeared to be closed because the parking is in the rear. The place is full of booths, and it looks like an old diner that's not received enough attention.

It was a weekday, and we were between holidays. Only one other booth was occupied. Our waitress was very nice and efficient, but she appeared to be the only wait staff on hand.

We ordered a combination plate for two and the BBQ ribs appetizer. On the combination plate we requested hot and sour, wonton soup, sweet and sour shrimp, and mongolian beef. All of the other appetizers were standard including a deep fried shrip, egg roll, and wontons. I think that's it.

Food cost was about $25/plate. We splurged because we were hungry and wanted to see what they could do. They were also very quiet, so we expected they had plenty of time for our meal.

Yeah, it was enough food to stuff a family. But we were starving - having nothing since a morning waffle at the hotel.

The food was delicious and surprisingly tasty. The hot and sour, egg roll, and sweet and sour sauce could have come from the restaurant supply (eg Sysco), but the preparation and the rest of the food appeared to be in-house. It was all good.

Highly recommended. Family friendly. Parking in the rear. They close at 9. To be fair, I'm not sure how well the place will operate when it's busy.

We will return again when we return to vist Mesa Verde again.

First time stopping by for lunch. The buffet was small but food was good. Not a whole lot to choose from and the buffet was about 15$ per person when usually we get it for 12$ with a huge selection. The service was great so that is a big plus. It was clean and not too busy.

Very good food and well worth what you pay without a doubt. They even grow some of the vegetables themselves right beside parking lot.

I’m from Denver and consider myself a Chinese food connoisseur. This is the best teriyaki chicken I have had anywhere. The absolute best. I would eat it for every meal. 100/100 idk what you’re doing if you’re not getting this. I hope the locals cherish this spot

The buffet here is pretty good. There are a lot of the usual buffet items, and they taste good. 1 thing that I miss is chocolate pudding in the dessert place of the buffet, but I shall survive.

Awful. Tried to go grab a takeout portion of the buffet during lunch at work. Only an hour into their buffet, nothing is fresh or crispy. I was charged 19 something for a small takeout container. Won’t be going back. I should’ve gone to ocean pearl and ordered off the lunch menu. Would gave had fresher food (and a lot more) for the price.
