We came here on our way through town while on a road trip. Another review had said dogs were allowed on the back patio so went there. However no dogs are allowed- even outside. If you have your furry friend with you try Wild Edge Brewing.

If you are ever within 100 miles of Cortez, do not miss dining here! The food is phenomenal! I had the Southwest Cuban today and it was like Heaven in my mouth! Last year, when I came through, I had the Bison burger, and it was thr best I've ever had!

Nice atmosphere. Really nice staff but the food was mid at best. Sent our appetizer wings back they were so burnt you couldn't eat them and they came back burnt again. Daughters food was bland. My burger was burnt so bad I couldn't finish it. Very nice staff just not good food.

Super nice city center bar and above all: excellent pastry. We tasted the homemade cheesecake and the bread pudding: real French-style pastry, full of flavor, homemade, and it feels good! The waitress offered us house cocktails off the menu: cosmopolitan with cucumber, excellent. I recommend without reservation for a good, delicious and tasty dessert!

Wow! SO GOOD! When I come into a small town like Cortez, I set my standards slightly lower. Cortez has plenty of corporate chains and classic diner style restaurants. Loungin' Lizard is fun, modern, and the food is surprisingly very delicious.
I ordered the country fried chicken and spinach salad. Sounds very basic.... NOPE! The chicken was covered in the perfect amount of chef made gravy and the mashed potatoes were mixed with chilis. The salad had bleu cheese, spicy nuts, red onions, strawberries, and a balsamic glaze over a bed of spinach tossed in a prickly pear vinegarette.
The cocktail list has a mix of local and regional beers and wines along with some house cocktails. I had a Monkey Wrench PA from here in Cortez.
The service is fast and friendly.
I will definitely be back to try more.
