They have the best chocolate Babka ever!!! It’s so soft and decadent. I heat it up in the microwave so it’s nice and warm. It’s
one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. I highly recommend that you try it.

This bakery is a hidden breakfast gem.

I stumbled in expecting the usual pastries—but what I found? Culinary magic.

They’ve got this biscuit wrap that sounds insane on paper: mashed potatoes, garlic, wrapped in a fluffy, golden biscuit. I almost didn’t order it. Almost.

But wow. One bite and I was in disbelief. It was warm, savory, rich in flavor, and ridiculously satisfying. Comfort food meets gourmet in the best way. It shouldn’t work… but it absolutely does.

Every item we tried was handmade, hearty, and full of flavor. You can tell they don’t cut corners—this is real food made by people who care.

If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and grab breakfast here. Come hungry—you’ll leave full and happy.

Great!

Open one day a week and has a sign showing someone violently striking another person for not wearing a mask and refusing to sell to them in October 2023. Ugh.

Wasn’t open when it said was open. Cant rate it.

We got lucky and went in a Saturday when they were open. Seems like you must order ahead online for pickup unless you get lucky like we did today. We bought the last peanut butter cookie, 2 chocolate eclairs and 2 carrot cake muffins. OMG they were all SUPER DELICIOUS!!! We immediately looked at their website and made an order to pickup next Sat. I guess it’s good they are only open on Saturdays or we would be in there too often for our own good. They are sooo delicious!! Love Love Love their baking !!!!!

I've had the pleasure of enjoying both savory and sweet pies from the Pie Maker...and they are FAN.TAS.TIC. The hubbard-green chile savory pie: I could eat this every day and not grow weary. Their gluten-free chocolate torte takes you off that chocolate precipice into Choco-Lovely Land. Many thanks to Tim and Shani for purveying such fine pies, located in scenic Cortez just off of Main Street!

I guess when the construction stops you long enough Google thinks you visited the business.

Had the pleasure of trying the apple and autumnal hand pies from The Pie Maker while visiting Cortez recently and they're absolutely delicious! Wonderful homemade pies and friendly, helpful staff. Try them while you're in town; it'll be worth it!

Great shop! The Pie Maker has Saturday set as order pick up day for now, but we were heading through Cortez mid-week. I contacted them about placing an order and they stayed in touch with us. We were able to pick up our order mid-week, on one of their prep days! Great customer service! Strawberry-rhubarb mini-pies we’re very tart/strawberry-sweet and the cookies were great to travel with!

We stayed in Cortez, CO on our way to Mesa Verde and I looked up a bakery to stop at. The Pie Maker had great reviews and looked friendly! They were open for order pickups on Saturday, we were there on Tuesday. I reached out before we left on our road trip and they stayed in touch with me and we arranged a time I could pick up our order. The mini strawberry-rhubarb pies are great you’ll taste both flavors! The mini apple pie crumble is crunchy and there’s a little extra cinnamon kick with the apples. We also got some cookies. The molasses cookies were awesome, and the peanut butter cookies deserve a big glass of milk! Excellent customer care and friendly shop!
