Best coffee spot in town! Big menu, milk options and very comfy seating.

Will be back!

Coffee is delicious and the service is wonderful! I prefer lattes with a little sweetness and the barista absolutely nailed it.

Comfortable beds, clean room, great shower. Excellent friendly efficient front desk gals. Reasonable rates. Would definitely stay here again next time. Far superior to hotel up the hill that was a DUMP

We never got to Experience our trip. Double Eagle called and canceled my Birthday weekend the day before. So bummed. I'm hoping we get an weekend offer down the road. This our go to cripple creek resort. Love It, but sad... :(

The rooms are pretty basic. Nothing fancy. We were a little disappointed as we were expecting a room at a casino to be a little nicer. However, the rate was very good - $100. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean. The hotel is at the end of the main street and walking distance to restaurants, etc. We ate at Lombard's restaurant in the hotel and the food and service was good

The rooms are newly remodeled, very comfortable beds, and rooms are clean, clean, clean!! Front desk, Wendy, could not be more welcoming. All of the staff I came in contact with were very friendly, and the best customer service I have seen for awhile. This casino is really a big step above the rest in Cripple Creek.

We looked around for a hotel and the Golden Eagle fit the bill. The hotel was semi new with a large casino, free parking and dining. The price was decent and the view on the end was nice. There was no hot water because they were working on the boiler so the price was reduced.

I was skeptical about staying here after reading reviews! Some people must have had a bad day because I was very pleased with the room and the way I was treated! I travel with a Corgi and they all made him feel at home as well. Sure there are no Fridge, Micro or coffee maker, but who cares they have a place to eat. Get your coffee there. room was nicely decorated, clean, and had a good street view and windows that actually open for fresh mountain air! Gave me comps for my Birthday. Rocky the Bartender upstairs took good care of me and my dog. Sat there for 4 1/2 hours. Made some money and will damn sure return! Really don't know where the bad reviews come from, they don't advertise to be the Waldorf-Astoria!

Don’t expect your room to be cleaned. Food service very slow. No shuttle. Rooms old and dated. Long wait just too check in. Gambling, only slots. Go down the street to the new Wildwood casino and hotel. First and last time staying at the Double Eagle.

The room was basic but fine. They do need to step up their dusting game. The dust on the TV console was so thick, it was clear that they just never dust it. They really should especially during this time of Covid. We got in late on Friday and tried to get the 250 points needed for a free stay but didn't make it partly because we didn't have enough time (you have to earn the points by midnight) and partly because we had 2 cards with the same name (and the points for one of the cards did not show up on the account), but we won enough to cover the price of the room anyway. So it was ok. We loved the perks, including a great free breakfast at Lombard's , free play for military every day, more free play for texting them, free drinks, and a free late night dinner at the bar with the points we did earn. So, even if we hadn't won it would have been a good value and if we did have enough time to earn the free room it would have been a great value.

Note: This is not a review of the hotel or casino, but rather Lombard's and Prospector's Perk, which are both located in - and presumably owned by - the casino. Cripple Creek is such a cute town, and it’s really surprising that it’s so dead in the middle of the summer (I doubt it’s due to Covid, because other nearby towns were super busy). We left our hotel room at 8 am to get lattes to get us going for the day. Using Google Maps and Trip Advisor, we found a place in one of the casinos called Prospector’s Perk (an ice cream and coffee shop). When we first arrived, the man running the place said his steamer was broken, so he only had drip. We decided to look around a little, and ended up sitting down at a restaurant called Lombard’s in the same building. We were seated right away, but sat for twenty minutes without anyone even acknowledging us (two other couples seated after us were served while we sat there). We were on a bit of a timeline, and if it took them that long to potentially even serve us, we were worried about how long it would take for the food to arrive. So, we got up and left. Not a single waiter or the hostess said a thing. We ended up going back to Prospector’s Perk, deciding to settle on drip coffee. But, to our surprise when we returned, the steamer was working, and we were able to get our vanilla lattes. I asked for extra shots, but I think he was confused about what I meant and gave us extra vanilla flavor instead of an extra espresso shot, because they were super sweet and didn’t taste very strong. Still, though, it was nice to finally get some coffee. The man behind the counter was super friendly, which made a not-fantastic experience tolerable.
