Great improvement since opening.
Great food. Good value for the price.
Food is always good. Great staff.
Great place to eat
It was a horrible experience after we were seated it took 30 min to even be acknowledged. Then the waitress finally took our drink order then we were finally able order our dinner. It took 1hr from the time we were seated to get our food. The food wasn't even the best my burger was so dry and my husband's mashed potatoes taste like water with some type of seasoning. The waitresss seemed kind of annoyed from the beginning and had a fake happy attitude. I will probably never come back to the restaurant again.
Just some steak and all the fixens
I stayed in Cripple Creek the weekend of November 3rd. I chose the Gold Nugget because they had a Salt Grass Steakhouse and I had ALWAYS had a pleasant experience at the other locations I ate at. We arrived on Saturday, November 2nd, checked in to our hotel, and immediately went to eat before we got our evening started. The atmosphere is awesome. The dining area was beautiful and really clean. We got seated quickly and placed our orders. I had a ribeye and my partner had the filet and shrimp. Our food was cold, bland, and just overall bad. Since we were staying the night and the hotel staff had a lot of good things to say about their breakfast, we decided to give them another try. I had the country fried steak breakfast and my partner had pancakes. The country fried steak was not fresh and the gravy had an "off" taste about it. I was very hungry and had a long drive back home so I ate it all anyway. I didn't make it 20 minutes down the road and I had to pull over and vomit. I was so sick. I had to stop two more times before I came home to do the same thing. It has been 36 hours since I ate there and I have barely eaten anything since as my stomach is in knots and I cannot seem to keep anything down. I hope nobody else has had this experience. Pretty shabby for a $50 breakfast and a $125.00 meal the night before. Lets just say my opinion of Saltgrass has been changed forever.

Pretty pathetic excuse for biscuits and gravy. Everything is over priced and food is not good. Mac and cheese is microwaved and chicken cold. For 14 dollars definitely worth going somewhere else

We came in for dinner after a show. We are card members and forgot to give it before paying. The waiter was kind enough to bring us back our receipt and cash payment. The card saved us 30.00 and the waiter still ended up with a great tip

Terrible service. Went for breakfast lots of staff 4 tables. Waited and waited no food finally left. No manager interaction. Awful can’t imagine how horrible dinner service would be.

Great view of the gas station. Wife and I had similar meals - both of us were sick during the night. Won't repeat...

I was reticent to eat here based on the number of negative reviews; however, it's Cripple Creek and there aren't that many options. One of the common complaints I saw in the reviews is slow service. Our service was on the slower side, so if that's an issue, I would consider another restaurant. My husband and I came on a Thursday night, and we wanted to catch the football game. We were fine with the slower service because it was an enjoyable location to catch the game. We were seated, had an app, entrees, and my husband had three drinks in 1.5 hours, which we thought was reasonable. We also liked having time between the app and the entree to pace out our meal.
Our waiter, Jim, was friendly.
I ordered the salmon oscar and my husband ordered the steak oscar. Both entrees were good. The steak was cooked well. My husband ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly (I can't tell you how many places we've gone where they can't cook a protein properly).
We came to the restaurant with low expectations, and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. I would come here again.

We took the day to drive up to Cripple Creek and enjoy the fall colors of the trees, which were absolutely gorgeous. I think we stopped at every turnout to take pictures. Lunch there was good. We played slots for a little while (didn't win). And then headed back home in COS.
It was a beautiful lovely day and we enjoyed it immensely.

Didn't get in, tons of open tables, but the wait was going to be almost an hour! We didn't wait! And they were rude to boot.
