I stayed in Cripple Creek the weekend of November 3rd. I chose the Gold Nugget because they had a Salt Grass Steakhouse and I had ALWAYS had a pleasant experience at the other locations I ate at. We arrived on Saturday, November 2nd, checked in to our hotel, and immediately went to eat before we got our evening started. The atmosphere is awesome. The dining area was beautiful and really clean. We got seated quickly and placed our orders. I had a ribeye and my partner had the filet and shrimp. Our food was cold, bland, and just overall bad. Since we were staying the night and the hotel staff had a lot of good things to say about their breakfast, we decided to give them another try. I had the country fried steak breakfast and my partner had pancakes. The country fried steak was not fresh and the gravy had an "off" taste about it. I was very hungry and had a long drive back home so I ate it all anyway. I didn't make it 20 minutes down the road and I had to pull over and vomit. I was so sick. I had to stop two more times before I came home to do the same thing. It has been 36 hours since I ate there and I have barely eaten anything since as my stomach is in knots and I cannot seem to keep anything down. I hope nobody else has had this experience. Pretty shabby for a $50 breakfast and a $125.00 meal the night before. Lets just say my opinion of Saltgrass has been changed forever.

Pretty pathetic excuse for biscuits and gravy. Everything is over priced and food is not good. Mac and cheese is microwaved and chicken cold. For 14 dollars definitely worth going somewhere else

We came in for dinner after a show. We are card members and forgot to give it before paying. The waiter was kind enough to bring us back our receipt and cash payment. The card saved us 30.00 and the waiter still ended up with a great tip

Terrible service. Went for breakfast lots of staff 4 tables. Waited and waited no food finally left. No manager interaction. Awful can’t imagine how horrible dinner service would be.
Steak from this place was on point

Great view of the gas station. Wife and I had similar meals - both of us were sick during the night. Won't repeat...

I was reticent to eat here based on the number of negative reviews; however, it's Cripple Creek and there aren't that many options. One of the common complaints I saw in the reviews is slow service. Our service was on the slower side, so if that's an issue, I would consider another restaurant. My husband and I came on a Thursday night, and we wanted to catch the football game. We were fine with the slower service because it was an enjoyable location to catch the game. We were seated, had an app, entrees, and my husband had three drinks in 1.5 hours, which we thought was reasonable. We also liked having time between the app and the entree to pace out our meal.
Our waiter, Jim, was friendly.
I ordered the salmon oscar and my husband ordered the steak oscar. Both entrees were good. The steak was cooked well. My husband ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly (I can't tell you how many places we've gone where they can't cook a protein properly).
We came to the restaurant with low expectations, and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. I would come here again.

We took the day to drive up to Cripple Creek and enjoy the fall colors of the trees, which were absolutely gorgeous. I think we stopped at every turnout to take pictures. Lunch there was good. We played slots for a little while (didn't win). And then headed back home in COS.
It was a beautiful lovely day and we enjoyed it immensely.

Been going here about once a month since it's opening here in CC. Before summer it was great! Service, food, and hospitality all great! Now this place is on it's way downhill FAST! When we walked in all booths were empty but we had to wait for a booth cause all were dirty. 4 waitresses on staff and the place was pretty empty. Fried mushrooms were and have been STILL bagged. When they first opened they were hand battered and DELICIOUS! Now it's bagged crap! Excuse is, it takes too long to bread the mushrooms so to basically cut corners, they buy bagged now. Thing is they WERE the best fried mushrooms anywhere locally. This is the START of a place failing. When they have to cut corners and not think about quality. So hire someone to be JUST on apps.
Next the waitresses asked us for refills but never brought them. Only checked on us once the entire time. When our food FINALLY arrived about 45 minutes later my husband was missing his biscuits and gravy along with his egg dish. We told the guy who brought our food but they NEVER brought it nor did they ask about it or apologize that it never came. Thank goodness we weren't charged for it. Then we had to stare at the waitress as we waited another 15 minutes for our check as she cleared the table right across from us knowing we were ready to go!
Back when we first started going, we had GREAT experiences and amazing service and food.
Now.... it's all going downhill fast.
I predict this place failing before next summer if this kind of service continues.
Bring back Carla! She had that place running smoothly.

Chris, was our server last weekend and he did a wonderful job. He told us he came down from denver to help out for the weekend. He really made our dining experience great. Can't wait to eat here again.

Worst experience I've ever had at Landry's restaurant. I have been a LSC member for about 15 years so we dine at these restaurants often, particularly (other) Saltgrass locations. Server was friendly enough but nowhere near professional. My guest and I were there for lunch, we ordered our food at the same time, my salad came out and my entree immediately followed, before I had a chance to eat my salad. My guest's salad never arrived. Her entree arrived well after my entree did, still no salad, we basically dined separately... AND I had to wait the entire length of our/her meal before my cocktail ever arrived from the bar. Then, to add insult to injury and truly what is most upsetting, when I reached out to Landry's about how dissatisfied we were with our dining experience, no response... needless to say we haven't been back to ANY Landry's concepts since, honestly not sure we will considering the lack of concern from ANYONE about this matter, extremely disappointing...
UPDATE: As you can see, Landry's immediately responded to my review saying they would like more information so they could look into the situation and sent me right back to "feedback" section of their website, same place I wrote my review to start with, where I received no response, and STILL NO RESPONSE! Go figure, why waste my time?!?
Parking: It's located inside a casino/hotel so there's plenty of free parking

They were out of quite a few items and the waiter didn't know what items were available, so we had to make changes to our order.
