This was my first time visiting Gabe's Cafe for breakfast, and it proved to be a solid everyday option for anyone living in or around the Frederick area. We were pleased to find no wait time when we arrived, and the greeting staff was welcoming and friendly. We were seated near the front windows. It is worth noting that the tables in this section are placed quite close together, making it a bit difficult to maneuver and settle into the seats. Our server checked on us during our meal, though the service overall felt a bit rushed and lacked a warm touch. However, the value of the meal easily makes up for the tight seating and brisk service. The menu offers classic, simple breakfast dishes at very affordable prices. The portions are generous and the food is well-prepared. Overall, it was a good experience and did not disappoint. I plan to return and would recommend it to others looking for a straightforward, reasonably priced breakfast

Gabes use to be awesome always got your order right food always tastes. Now they can't get anything right. They charge you extra for things for them to not put it on your order. I now feel like I have to check my food before I leave to make sure it right!

The staff here makes this place so wonderful. They are attentive and caring. I never have to worry about not getting a refill here, they take care of you. Retains the small town charm. Easily my favorite place in town to go.

My omellete was dry, with a slice of half melted cheese slapped on top instead of grated and melted inside....awful. The toast is cheap bread, the hash browns industrial level quality. The waitress was great.

Ordered smothered burritos to go. So disappointed, they were the size of a Tamale, cold, and tasted awful. I usually eat in and always get a good meal with plenty of portion so maybe it is take out they rob you on.

I'd say this place is 5 star 80% of the time. We have been coming here for weekend brunch ever since elf grill closed and mostly we have a 10/10 experience. And every once in a while it's only so/so for food and service. One of my favorites is the chicken fried steak skillet and my husband loves the tamale breakfast. My kids love the pancakes and the cinnamon rolls. We tried the biscuits and gravy and it was very bland. But all in all its a down home family place that we enjoy.
