It’s a sports bar that will not turn the volume up for a college football playoff game because it’s not a local game!!!! I’m not the only person that asked either!

On Wednesday the 18th I stopped in and played poker. I travel alot so it was good to get a decent place recommended and had poker, BONUS!! Service seemed good at that time, food was really on point. After I moved to a table near the bar after I lost, and was told my server, Anna, would still take care of me. She kept disappearing with her phone, I saw the poor blond girl empty the dishwasher 4+ times in the 2 hours I was at a table, I never saw Anna do it once. The other bartender cleaned the mats, ran dishes to the back, stocked the fridges, and took on all new comers with a smile. I actually wanted to tip her, I couldn’t believe she was doing all that while my server kept disappearing. The blond lady actually came out a couple times to check on me, which helped out a lot. I did eventually see her (Anna, my original server) clean the popcorn,…so there’s that. I really liked the place, it was very off putting to see Anna not helping with things while the blond seemed to cover it. Great food, good atmosphere. Anna, not so much.

Overall, a solid pub-like experience for a meal and a drink, but nothing exceptional. Very dark bar atmosphere inside. Space dominated by a large, long bar where most people sit, giving a very local feel but not if you're looking for something more upscale. Had just the fries smothered with green chile- very good. Craft beer selections on tap very limited.

Good place for a burger, very slow service, so if you're at all in a hurry, don't come here. All of the waitresses/waiters were bartendeding on top of servicing tables, so they were extremely busy tending to the bar most of the time. But I will say that she came by and quickly without saying a word would grab our cups and fill them, so our cups were never empty.

This place is a gem - good food and excellent service. The Rusty Melon is really a well-run and managed restaurant where they have a team approach to taking care of customers. Just enough of a dive feel to make it fun.
