So loud! It was over 85 decibels at 5:30- felt like I was in a nightclub and couldn’t hear anyone at my table

Go anywhere else. Don’t even serve green chili if it’s just jarred and not homemade. It was bland and our food came out cold. Overpriced. Seriously go to Santiago’s down the road for actual Mexican food. Places like this should be embarrassed.

Wapo’s is a great restaurant and I always have a great experience. Moses is one of the nicest staff members.

Seriously, you HAVE to try this place! The food is absolutely amazing, and the service is super friendly. Their margaritas are on point, perfect for a chill night out. And don't even get me started on that special jalisco sauce – it's heavenly! I'm already planning my next visit just for another taste of it. Thank you, Juan and team!

Best Mexican food in Northern Colorado hands down. Great staff, fast service, and wonderful authentic Mexican food. Margaritas are awesome, and the salsa is spot on. 10/10 highly recommend!

Not true mexican food. Our food tasted and looked like it was prepared by a very white family that doesn't understand what flavor is.

Octavio was amazing!
I had out of state family visiting so I was excited to take them to Wapos for dinner. I have been there several times before and enjoyed it. What a huge disappointment! To begin with, the restaurant was filled with flies. They were annoying us and settling on our food-ick. We were the first customers there at 5:00-why hadn’t they done something before we came in? The food was so so. The chimichangas were large and filled with chicken that was dry. We paid extra and received a tiny amount of guacamole and sour cream. The OMG burrito was filled with chicken and a scant amount of the advertised beans, rice, and cheese. The service was fair and our waiter argued that the burrito was filled correctly. No, we won’t be back.

Wapos is a local chain with multiple locations throughout the metro area. They serve classic Tex Mex style dishes with a deep drink menu (you can get your margarita fix here).
The food is extremely similar in style and quality to Azteca which is a block away. It’s a matter of personal tastes and preferences which is better.
To me - Wapos is very typical Tex Mex food with solid, but disappointing overall taste and quality. I’ve eaten here about 10 times and found individual menu item quality to vary quite a bit.
I find that nearby options like the Dugout, Teocali, and Rumbo 52 offer much better Mexican food at similar price points.

Extremely expensive and my margarita was watered down. The food was excellent however and the presentation was nice.

Went in on Saturday (8/27/25) evening to check this place out. The fajitas were great! We ordered tequila shots and a michelada from Tav who was absolutely crushing it! Busy bar, fun vibes, and great service - Will definitely be back!

Came here the other day and had a fantastic meal and even better service! Octavio really went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and was so personable. Will be back and requesting him as our server!

Good smothered burritos-- very generous on the smother and soft and warm and tasty. I especially liked the chicken! The guacamole serving is miserly, especially given that they charge extra for it, and the guac seems light on actual avocado. Service was pretty slow despite not seeming incredibly busy, for whatever reason. My wife and I managed to eat all of the chips and drink all of our water before we had our order taken... We did get a refresh on the chips and salsa but not the water, unfortunately... Still, our server was super nice and we liked the food and I think we'd both recommend the spot to any friends in the area as well.
