Came in on Valentine’s Day an hour before closing with the whole family and no reservation. It was packed and everyone else had reservations. They made an extra effort to get us seated and we managed to get seated within 10 or 15 minutes. I vacation in Estes Park almost every autumn, and a highlight of my trips is sitting on Claire's front porch, having one of their amazing meals as I look up at Long's Peak and watch the trams going up and down Prospect Mountain.
Typically the service is great here. We must have had a waiter having a bad day. Yesterday we were there and it was moderately busy. The waiter got my coffee order but never asked my husband what he wanted. We asked for crispy/crunchy bacon and we picked it up and it flopped over. We had to waive waiter down to get refills on water and my coffee after waiting 30 minutes. The food is excellent (Except if someone asks for crunchy nearly burnt bacon, maybe not bring wiggly bacon)...
