We always have depended on stopping at the Burro Cafe for lunch on our trips to CO and return to New Mexico. Unfortunately, the Burro no longer exists. It is now Casa Sanchez and serves Mexican food. It does have a full liquor license but I would rather have the Burro back.

Bomb breakfast burrito!! Cute little spot with friendly service.
Ordered to go and was disappointed with all three dishes upon arriving home. The “huevos rancheros” were more like a deconstructed omelette and lacked flavor. The eggs with the overly-breaded country fried steak tasted like they came straight out of a carton; the hash browns on the side were standard. The pancakes were rubbery and the cinnamon roll was stale, as well. I think because Fairplay is so small and there’s not another breakfast joint, people’s first choice is the Brown Burro. It was packed but don’t let that fool you. While the customer service was good (hostess was friendly and the only reason I’m giving it a 2-star rating instead of 1), find another place to place to eat.

Friendly atmosphere and excellent service. The breakfast menu is wonderful and our food was amazing! Don’t hesitate to give this wonderful restaurant a try!

Had a "Wake N Shake". Espresso blended into the milkshake or your choosing. It was really, really good. The lady serving was very nice and talked to us while we waited. Will definitely stop by again if I'm ever this way

We had breakfast at the Brown Burro cafe & it was pretty good, very busy little place. The waitress was very friendly. We then stopped by Cream and Steam for cold brew and it was the best cold brew we have ever had. It was so fresh and tasted amazing, we actually came back again but they were closed :( Will definitely stop by any time we are in town!
