We stopped at Del’s Diner after we walked out of Mountain View Diner from bad service. We were the 8th table and the waitress was amazing! She was attentive to everyone in the diner. Food was served quick and was delicious. Next time we go back to the Sand Dunes, we will only be stopping at Del’s Diner for a meal.

For a small town diner it is good. Had the chicken tender basket. The tenders were actually tender. The fries were okay. I think they needed to change the oil out. Husband got a quesadilla and thought it was better than the last Mexican resturant we were at. It was reasonably priced also.

For some reason, Google had this place marked as permanently closed. It is not. In fact, it was not even temporarily closed. Not sure why that happened.
We had two different burgers… Jalapeño, and mushroom Swiss. Both were excellent. The service was excellent. The fries were excellent, and the salad was fine. Highly recommend this place.

The service was the worst. 1. She was not a good greeter, asked for no cheese, got cheese, had to ask for napkins, forks, for coffee, salsa. Never asked how our food was. Had to ask for check, never said thank you for coming in. I have worked as a waitress and would have been fired for service that I received today. Never told me her name, but had a long braid, a sour attitude. Just so they know, I left the minimal tip all in Nichols. Lost my business and will tell everyone that is going through Fort Garland, CO. Do not stop there.
Cool place with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, we did not have the best service. Also, the frying oil definitely needs to be changed more often, the fries tasted super fishy.

The diner was open! I have been traveling and it’s always been closed. I thought it was shut down for good, but it was open. Had a great patty melt my wife had chili cheese fries with red chili. It was amazing.
