If you are heading to Sugar Lips looking for a full meal, you are, quite literally, bananas. These are mini donuts. As advertised. Tiny, hot little sugar halos that are meant to make you happy for a few minutes, not carry you through the whole day.
The donuts we had were hot, fluffy, and cooked just right, so whatever machine drama they had in the past seems handled. Grab a small tray, pick your toppings, and have fun with it. The classic cinnamon sugar is hard to beat, but the “fancy” flavors are worth trying too. The staff was friendly and patient with us, even while juggling other guests and explaining toppings like it was a serious life decision.
Are they small? Yes. They are called mini donuts. Are they cheap? You are standing in the middle of a Colorado ski resort, so also no. You are paying for fresh, made-to-order treats in a tiny shop with a resort-level lease. The trick is to treat it like what it is, a fun splurge snack, not a budget breakfast buffet.
We grabbed our donuts, a couple of drinks, and parked ourselves by the fire globe to people-watch. That is really the magic of this place. A quick, happy stop where you get a warm snack, some sugar, and a front row seat to mountain life.
If you are expecting a fun little experience with great mini donuts in a beautiful setting, Sugar Lips gets it right. Highly recommend.

We rode up on our bikes from Frisco on our niece's recommedation, well worth it! Grace and Charlotte are incredibly kind and I have to rave about the selection. All were delicious but I have to say the French toast flavor was the winner! A must try!

The new owners have done an amazing job creating an inviting atmosphere and there’s tons of options to choose from. Never had mini donuts before coming here and I’m a huge fan. They’re are so so good and I highly recommend the cinnamon sugar ones under chocolate ice cream.
