The food was absolutely outstanding and Andy our waiter was excellent. However, when we asked the girl that was refilling our water if the restaurant had a military discount her answer was so unbelievably inappropriate! She looked as if we had just insulted her and said “no, we don’t” abruptly. We’ve been to other restaurants before that are very polite when they say “no” but her response just made us feel so disrespected and uncomfortable. How sad that this restaurant doesn’t honor and appreciate military service. 😢

Amy took great care of us! The food was very good (happy hour is a great deal), the cocktails are excellent, and they do hospitality very well. We’ll be back! :)

Amazing cocktails and happy hour specials. Bar is a nice mix of locals and tourists. In the summer, the patio is one of the best views in town, you sit right under Mt Royal
Unfortunately a 5 star waiter and excellent food could not rescue us from the significant and noticeable hostility of the host.

Our server was new and still getting familiar with the menu and specials, but she was kind and attentive throughout. The food was great—we especially enjoyed the patio during happy hour. The pork rind appetizer and carrots were delicious, and while the pork belly was a bit chewy, it was still packed with flavor. Overall, a solid spot with a relaxed vibe and tasty bites.

Vegetarians will not be disappointed! The cauliflower steak entree had so much flavor that I couldn’t pick what would be my favorite! Amy was our waitress and very attentive and personable. She let me know the spice level of the sauce so I could put it on the side to control the level I wanted. My mom had the salmon and loved it. Becky was the hostess and also very personable and checked in even after we were seated and eating. There was also a very nice wine selection. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Will definitely return. It is smaller so make a reservation.

This place came highly recommended and after trying once to get, we succeeded this time. It was a Sunday night and not busy but we still had reservations. Our server, Andrew was amazing! We started with a wedge and shared it which was perfect. Then we had the bolognese and ribs and they were both incredible. Never had meat fall off the bones like that. Ended with a blood orange cake and ice cream. Can’t wait to go back!!

The ribeye and mahi mahi were fantastic! The staff was attentive but not bothersome. We will return.

Tavern West just became my new favorite spot in Frisco—hands down. The food was excellent (every bite was on point), the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service? Absolutely top-notch. Stephanie behind the bar was amazing—friendly, fast, and genuinely made the experience even better. Whether you’re local or just passing through, put this place on your list. Can’t wait to come back.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting — perfect for a relaxed evening out.
We ordered the Mushroom Banh Mi and the Rotisserie Chicken. The Banh Mi was a pleasant surprise — packed with flavor, fresh herbs, and a satisfying crunch from the bread.
The mushrooms were perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, with crispy tater totes making it a great vegetarian option.
The Rotisserie Chicken was juicy, tender, and full of comforting, homestyle flavor. It came with delicious sides that complemented the dish well. You can really tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
Overall, it’s a great spot for a casual happy hour yet elevated meal. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more from their menu!

My Wife and Mother-in-Law took my daughters here for dinner tonight for our oldest’s 9th birthday. They were seated and then ignored for half an hour until the host came by again to refill water glasses. At that point they got up and left.

We had a reservation, so we were seated right away. It was a little loud inside but not terrible. The pork chop I had was fantastic. My wife’s steak was unfortunately very dry and tough, if it wasn’t for that, this would’ve been an easy 5 star.
