OK, so I rarely complain but here goes:
Had dinner there week before last. The salad was pretty bad: rotting lettuce, wilted and slimy. I don't know why chefs/cooks cannot see what they are putting out to customers. I pushed about 1/4 of the lettuce off to the side, hoping the server would see it and pass it down the line. Not sure if they did because we went back for lunch one day and got a similar looking salad. Yuck!!!
To their credit the biscuits were outstanding as was the spaghetti with Bolognese sauce. Ick on the salad. I hope the owner/manager/chef reads this review and works on salad prep.
We shall give this restaurant in downtown Fruita one more opportunity.

Dinner was excellent
Salmon was 10/10. Bolognese was 9/10. Pork 8/10. Appetizers were excellent. Nice to have a high quality restaurant in Fruita.

We stopped here for lunch after a morning visiting Colorado National Monument. It was warm enough that we ate outdoors. Very good food, friendly service, pleasant atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Great spot for breakfast (served until 5 every day!) and lunch. Portions were great and food was flavorful. I had the chile relleno with eggs and potatoes- saucy, cheesy, slightly spicy- so good. Potatoes were crispy on the edges. The grilled cheese had green chile and cheese crisped on the outside. The kid’s menu portion for my son was huge and we brought home leftovers. Would highly recommend checking this place out!

Wow!!! Just wow!!! So glad we chose this restaurant. We came in towards the late side and never felt rushed. Such a welcoming team! The suggestions from our waiter were spot on. My boyfriend grills an amazing steak but this one with its amazing homemade chimichurri sauce, was and I quote “The best restaurant steak we’ve ever had!” Not enough can be said for the scrumptious homemade dessert that we finished up with. Worth a stop here to try everything on the menu. Looking forward to the gumbo and pork loin for our next visit! Thank you for making us feel so Welcome Chef Montoya and crew :-)

Delicious breakfast! Eggs and potatoes were perfectly done and not over salted. I was too full to eat my biscuit so I had it well toasted for a bedtime snack. It was awesome, slightly sweet with great texture when sliced and toasted DARK!

The food was the best we have eaten in a long time. I had the ravioli, my husband had the salmon chili relleno. Both were exceptional. The staff were friendly and lovely. The atmosphere could use some work to match the quality of the food. Please go and support this small restaurant!

Outstanding food and an excellent dining experience! The chef personally came to our table to share his background and walk us through the dishes we’d be enjoying, which made the meal even more memorable. If you’re in Fruita, Camilla’s is a must-visit!
