We were celebrating our Anniversary, 58 years, tonight. When it was time for us to pay the check, our waitress informed us that it had been taken care of! She did not know who it was but it certainly made our day! We had a wonderful meal, the waitress was very attentive and enjoyed the evening! Thank you to the person who paid for our meal, you had no way of knowing that it was a special day for us, it was a very nice thing for you to do!!

Went deer hunting in the Bookcliffs north of Fruita and went into town to grab some supplies and found the Strayhorn. The food was good and the service was good as well. I went for dinner one night and had Katie the bartender wait on us and she was awesome. I then had to return for breakfast on our way out of town and had Anastasia wait on us and the breakfast was awesome as well. Being a Maitre D in Lake Tahoe for over 20 years, it's nice to go to a new place and have good food and a well established wait staff that servers the customers the way they should be served. I will be going back on my next trip through Fruita. The Strayhorn definitely put the WTF (welcome to Fruita) in Fruita.

I had fish n chips and it was lousy. The fish was so thin and mostly breading, over fried and dry. The fries were okay. Cole slaw was dried out and not fresh. I used to love their food but this was just awful.

This was the best steak ive had in the grand Valley so far. No need for steak sauce and melt in your mouth. Another favorite is the fried okra. Definitely will be returning

Traveling through and am SO GLAD we stopped! Our food was cooked to perfection, plenty of it, at a reasonable price!! The atmosphere is clean, welcoming and family friendly. Ask for Ladonna, she will treat you like royalty!!! Wish we lived closer, we would definitely become a regular here! ❤️

Food quality is very poor. The wait is long. There are much better spots. The biscuits, in particular, are not right. The gravy is weak in flavor and the coffee is not strong. Does that make sense? For their prices? No
It's been awhile since we had lunch here, we are usually here for a great steak dinner. The lunch Burger special with fries and drink for $10. can't be beat. As always the wonderful staff and food, keep us coming back to this local favorite. Next time I'm going to order a strawberry vodka lemonade.
