Taqueria El Nopal

I went to this restaurant on 11/02 for a pickup order, and the experience was really disappointing. The staff didn’t seem to pay attention and acted like they didn’t want me there. We even had to go back inside because they forgot to include the salsa we specifically asked for. When we politely asked for a couple more, they acted like we were asking for too much. Definitely not the kind of service I expected.

I was passing through Glenwood and remembered their Pupusas. Just as good as always! Glad I stopped in. Cashier not very friendly, she does her job well, though. I love their selection of sauces and items to add to my order. From mild to super spicy, something for everyone.

Ismael and crew are the best. The menu items are created from scratch, you can taste it. Super chill atmosphere. You can actually afford to eat here! Come hungry , leave full! I LOVE THIS PLACE! Secret spot, away from the downtown tourists and traffic.

Always good food. You place your order first and pay; they’ll give you a number, once you order is ready your number gets called and the waitress takes your food to your table. There is no regular waiting staff, if you need anything like straws, lemons, more of this or that, you’ll need to get up and get or request. Ordering extra’s/ sides is pricey, one time I requested extra avocado and I was charged $4 for half of an avocado. Food as I said is great, this is a place where you can try Mexican authentic food. Pozole is served on weekends and is amazing, carne asada never disappoints, seafood is fresh and delicious. They have a good selection in their menu.

I’ve been dining at this restaurant for around 20 years, and I’m blown away that it has any negative reviews. This is one of my favorite restaurants — PERIOD. The team is always super friendly, the food is quick, and most importantly, the quality hasn’t changed in years. If you don’t like this place, stick to Arby’s across the street and grow up! Taqueria Nopal is all time!
