What I adore about this family-owned business (beyond the quality and variety of artisan breads and pastries) is that you can see the wholesale bakery while you wait to order and they hire local high school kids who get experience during their Saturday retail hours to learn customer service. The outdoor greeter is always friendly and welcoming. There is a feeling of community. As another reviewer, Robert Powell, noted the appeal is the high quality fresh-baked products and opportunity to buy items normally only sold to restaurants. Go early (10-11 am) if you have a certain item in mind to ensure you’re there before it sells out. I’ve been going since 2015 and everything is delicious. I like to go closer to closing (2:30p) when there’s hardly a wait and choose from what’s left. Anything that doesn’t sell is donated to a local food charity that afternoon.

Parking: This is a commercial office complex so parking is wide open on Saturdays.

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of customers bring their kids to help choose treats and peek inside the bakery while waiting.

The baked goods are amazing and worth checking out. It's a wholesale operation during the week, and the retail is secondary. The shopping experience is sub-par, since they are open to the public for 4.5 hours on Saturdays only. Get there early before they run out of the good stuff. They don't make the necessary quantities to stay fully stocked. Expect poor service from a baker's dozen of employees, mostly high schoolers, who are only there once a week and can't be bothered to update inventory or communicate to the other staff while they are sitting around on their phones.

These people can’t keep any employees because they don’t respect people and choose to blame their abundant issues on the staff or customers. Zero accountability.

I haven't been there in awhile, and maybe it's my imagination, but the Country Loaf Batard was not very crusty and was softer than I felt it should have been. It was almost like how you ruin bread by keeping it in plastic. I hope this was an aberration and they'll respond about this.

This is a lovely option for fresh bread of all kinds and specialty breads and desserts. Get on their mailing list and you will know what they will have available on Saturday before you go. A little pricy but worth every penny. Open only on Saturday from 10am-2:30pm to the public.

Super fun experience. Had no idea how it worked, but everyone was helpful from picking a number & getting a clipboard to waiting "on deck" & going inside to the young ladies fulfilling our order. We tried a variety of items & everything was extremely flavorful. We will definitely go back next time we're in town.

Great bread store. However, there is little information available (either in writing or from an employee) regarding which types of bread, if any, are made with 100% whole grains.

Great bakery! Only open to the public on Saturdays from 10-2:30. It's a little wonky. You take a number and fill out a form with all the things you want. Breads, pastries, you name it, they have it! They call numbers 2-3 at a time to go in. Once called inside, you hand over your form, they put everything together, you pay and you're all set! Highly recommend.

Vegetarian options: Plenty of pastries that don't have meat!

Been on a kick trying the best bread spots in the metro area. We got a bag of various goodies here during Saturday retail hours. I gotta say, was pretty disappointed. While the pastries were pretty good and likely worth the trip, the bread was middling at best. The crust was extremely tough and the flour didn’t have that strong gluten aroma you typically get with freshly milled, local flour. It’s unclear where they source their flour from, but website suggests from organic CO suppliers.I hate to give a local small business anything less than 5 stars but my experience and reviews are so dissonant. fwiw, I used to work in a commercial bakery a long time ago (at lower elevation, and more humid environment). I imagine it’s super hard to churn out large batches in a low humidity environment. Low humidity = crustier bread. Probably why sourdough is so popular here and hard to find a good Italian loaf.

Bought artisan cheddar jalapeno bread at a bakery in San Diego last week that was the bomb! Searched Google for something similar here in Denver area and was excited to try based on other Google reviews. Got there 10 minutes early, took a ticket, and waited outside for my turn, which took about 30 minutes total. Spent about $30 on a loaf of cheddar jalapeno bread (very light texture, blaw jalapeno flavor and no hint of cheddar cheese), 1 cookie(burnt chocolate flavor), 1 scone(ok, not anything special), and 2 croissants(praying they are great considering they were almost $6 each). Be warned, they are only open to the public Saturday from 10-2. Guess I need to try another bakery!
