I made the reservation through Open Table earlier the same day and after driving half an hour to get there we were met with signs on the door that said they were temporarily closed. This was for my husbands birthday dinner and I had spent a lot of time selecting a restaurant that we could enjoy as a family. Which left me scrambling to find another place to eat on a Friday night with two hangry kids! I don't know if the root of the problem lies with the restaurant or Open Table, but I am disappointed just the same. Maybe we will try again if they open, but we don't live in the area so...
We had the place to ourselves. The food was really good, and the prices were even better than that. I plan on eating there again in the future.
The food tasted terrible, and the service was terrible as well. We were visiting from out of state and decided to visit this restaurant because it had pretty good ratings. It seemed like our waitress was overwhelmed and barely came to check on us, even though the restaurant wasn't packed. The cost of the tab did not equate to the taste of the food. The crab dip tasted like cheese dip we will not return.
I didn't realize it was only a buffet at noon. That may be on me for not knowing, but it was extremely expensive for like three tables of food. I love their normal menu though.
Went on a Sunday for dinner. Large dining area with only 2 other parties. Service was good. Burgers were fine but not memorable. Side salad was nice. Tables could have been a little cleaner. Atmosphere didn't play on the periodic table theme much. Didn't impress enough for a return visit.
Mixed drinks were good. Beer just ok . Couldn't really hear our waitress when band started . Appetizers good- sandwiches just ok
This was the worst excuse for a brunch that I have had possibly ever. Not as advertised. We won't be back
Food and especially the drinks were great, once we could finally order, but there were not enough staff to handle the trivia crowd. We walked in exactly at our reservation time and there was nobody at the host stand, and no one came over for about five minutes (trivia had already started, we weren't there for trivia, but didn't mind it). We contemplated just going to sit at the bar, but since we had a reservation, we decided to wait. We were seated at a nice table but no one came over to even bring water or take a drink order for 30 minutes. We were discussing whether we should just leave and go eat somewhere else, but luckily were able to catch the attention of a food runner who got us a server. Once the server came over she was very nice and the food came out pretty quickly after that. We saw another couple be seated in this time and also waited so long for a server to come over that they DID actually get up and leave.
I have been here numerous times and as usual, the food was delicious. But this time the cocktails were disappointing, especially the usually delicious old fashioned. Hopefully just an off night in the bar.
Everything mediocre. PT burgers overcooked. Stir fry was drowning in sauce. Cajun pasta needed more pasta, less sauce. Korean Nachos were the best of all the food we ordered. Server was nice but not attentive. Empty water glasses. Didn't check in after we got food. Will not return.

Well, I'm just happy that we didn't pay much for dinner. The couple that ordered the cream of crab soup said that they must have added some liquid crab flavor because the soup was the consistency of half and half, wiouth a speck of crab in it. She joked if she poured it though a strainer, there' be nothing left behind. I don't think that the food would have been improved had we had another waitress, but I think our waitress had just been promoted from bus staff or even dishwashing. Her English wasn't very good and she really struggled understanding (I'm a former ESL teacher and used my bag of tricks to increase her comprehension). I asked her if she could leave an item off and she looked at the menu and said no. She struggled to get the two cheesesteak orders correct (no may, no lettuce, no tomato) one one. It's my fault that the burger was overcooked because the waitress didn't ask, and I forgot to mention (I didn't remember because the waiter always asks), but missing in action was arugula, gruyere, aioli and crispy onion. Instead, lettuce and tomato, so when I said PT burger, I guess she just ordered a burger. The chicken salad wrap was huge, but soggy. I suppose some of this would be understandable if it were busy, but we were one of three tables occupied. Didn't feel like a restaurant having a bad night. Seems like this is SOP for the place.
The apps were great but the entree this time around was only so-so. We unfortunately had a waitress who didn't seem to know or understand the menu (and was actually training someone else who was new!) and who was extremely rude for no reason at all. We waited close to 20 minutes for the check and ended up having to go ask the hostess. She alerted our waitress, who had been nowhere to be found, and our waitress walked over and slammed the receipt down on the table without saying a word and walked away before we could hand her the credit card, even though we had the card out and ready. The whole thing was as really odd. We had all been super polite the whole night so I'm not sure what caused this. I ate here once prior and the experience was absolutely lovely, so I'm not sure whether to recommend or not... the trainee we had last night was great; much better than his training waitress.
Took entirely too long for a simple rice bowl to be made. We were told twice there was an issue in making it. The flat bread we received that was supposed to served at the same time as the rice bowl was barely warm since it was left waiting under the warmer(30-45 min) for the other dish. They had an issue making our drinks as well. We didn't even finish any of the food it was so horrible. Thank goodness bourbon chicken bowl was a complimentary since it took forever to make. The chicken for the flat bread was the same precooked chopped chicken you purchase to make salads at home. They have a great name and had minimal on the mens and decor to reflect any element of the periodic table. There are so many cool ideas to play with with such a great name to infuse into your restaurant. They dropped the ball with this restaurant. It looks like they took over an older restaurant never remodeled, left the old decor ,displayed two periodic table signs, and beakers at each table with fairy lights. Don't waste you time stopping there are too many other restaurants in the Columbia area.
Periodic table did an excellent job accommodating a family celebration for Mother's Day. We enjoyed the environment and service was spot on including drinks and appropriate check ins.
The restaurant was understaffed with 2 waiters at dinnertime but they were attentive as they could be. But, the crab dip was all cream cheese and poorly seasoned. Salmon and shrimp were overcooked. Fish and chips were good if not a little over fried. I heard they changed management so was anxious to see how it was. Maybe they need more time to settle in.
