I eat at the Mines Qdoba about once a week. It is the best restaurant on campus, and the staff is truly kind. I have had two excellent experiences at the Qdoba where the employees have gone beyond what is expected to help me out. Well-sized burritos and bowls with queso at no surcharge for less than $12? Catch me back here next week.

W staff, L proportions. You pay the same but get less food than you would at other Qdoba locations. I don’t have proof, but I blame Mines Parking for this.

The employees are great, super nice and good service. However a lot of the food is not very fresh. One example being them serving picked onions instead of fresh onions for burritos/tacos/etc. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that does this. There’s a lot of other obvious cost saving measures but the prices for meals are comparable to chipotle but much lower quality. Overall expected for campus food.

Not worth my service anymore.TL;DR:--Much smaller portions (spend $11 and still be hungry)--Frequently out of various items--All the prices have been raised--Employees are still fantastic thoughThis Qdoba replaced the Habaneros restaurant on campus. What has changed? Quality-wise its the same: Same menu, same food, same employees. They just replaced the name. However, they now charge you extra for a tortilla with your bowl, the prices have gone up significantly while the amount of food they give you is about 2/3rds of what it was. So I ask... Is the guac REALLY free? It's lost the personal vibe that it had when it was called habaneros because it seems they are making an effort to be stricter about serving portions. Perhaps this is administrative influence, because I still recognize the employees. The employees are fantastic by the way: super friendly, personable, and they smile (big factor!). Unfortunately, its just not a good deal anymore, and its lost some of its charm. (The new menu is not very aesthetic either). Being as its in competition with only one other sub par restaurant on campus, it will probably do just fine. Students are generally weak consumers and won't cause the demand to adapt, so on the whole, this location will probably see its profits increase anyway. That being said, I believe in a version of capitalism where we can restrain ourselves from taking advantage of weak consumers and where we are concerned with more than just our revenue. I guess times are changing. I'm only the consumer; I don't know the finances of the restauraunt; maybe inflation is just that bad. But, what I DO know is that, when getting lunch makes me FEEL like a business is grabbing at every penny in my pocket, I'll put my foot down and go to a friendlier, homier, more personable establishment. Also @Kyra F, they are out of certain items quite frequently.#YourWalletHasPower

Seems like they’re always sold out of everything and never restock the food.
