Stopped here on our way back to Denver from Rocky Mountain National Park - it was a last minute stop! They had very good green chili (coming from a. Colorado girl born and bred) but the food was subpar. Chili cheese fries had shredded cheddar, still shredded, was supposed to be melted - a bit cold while eating. Steaks didn’t come out cooked as asked! Faint taste of fish on my food. Service was okay! Friendly host who was funny :) Server was just OK! Overall, decent but not amazing if you’re looking for some good food and a good food experience! Ordered the Sirloin steak entrees as a reference!

Have lunch here today on the recommendation up an attendant at a gas station this restaurant is really nice and cozy and smells yummy inside we had the Cowgirl sandwich and I have the French dip both were excellent and the side salad is really tasty as well as the homemade potato chips Overall this is a very good satisfying restaurant we ate there at noon and it's now 9 PM and we are still not hungry

Do not waste your money here. This is probably one of the worse tasting food I have ever had in my life. $140 of nasty food. Old, weird tasting, bland food. Very disappointed, we couldn't even finish the meal and terribly regretted going here. If there was such thing as food insurance, this would be a claim and a law suite for just pure nasty food that stole $140 from me. Please take my word for it and do not eat here.
Awful.... waitress was very rude. Food was very expensive and the quality was shitty. Do not recommend ordering any mixed drink. You will be overcharged for pop or juice. Ordered a double and it had absolutely no alcohol in the drink. When we asked we got told well I made it so its right. I'm sorry but vodka lemonade should not just taste like lemonade.

I placed a To-go order with the bartender. She was friendly but seemed upset about something, as she slammed beer bottles into the trash can. The Meatloaf was good, the Chicken Fried Steak was a bit bland, the mashed potatoes were good, the white gravy was pretty lumpy, and the green beans (frozen) definitely could have used some seasoning.

We visited Mavericks based on strong reviews and a recommendation from our hotel owner as a local favorite. We were greeted warmly at the bar and served drinks quickly, which started things off well.
Unfortunately, once we placed our food order, service broke down completely. We waited about 30 minutes for our meals — which would’ve been fine — but then didn’t see a staff member again for nearly an hour. We had to retrieve our own silverware just to eat. When someone finally checked in, it was to ask if we wanted anything else — at that point, we were ready to leave.
We paid (with a standard 18% tip) and left, disappointed. Other diners near us appeared to be having similar issues, so this wasn’t an isolated situation.
The food was fine, and the atmosphere is friendly, but the service experience made it hard to enjoy. We hope this was just an off night, but it didn’t reflect the great reviews we read going in.
