The last time I ate at Cattleman's was in Texas many many years ago. The food was delicious as I remembered with a salad and soup, that I don't remember from my last visit. The atmosphere was different from the one in Texas, but I loved it. It was every bit an old western/cowboy theme. The establishment is fairly new and was short staffed, but our server was great with her joyous attitude, speaking with us and other customers with a camaraderie type banter. I kid you not, a person could fill up on the sampler appetizer plate and salad/soup bar.Parking: I found a parking spot pretty quickly.

My steak was really fatty and half of it was really rare, almost raw, and the other half was medium. I also got loaded mashed potatoes and they were hard and dry. The salad bar was good. Everyone else I was with liked their food, so maybe just a bad cut with bad placement on the grill. Our waitress was great and the atmosphere takes you back in time to when you might have pulled up to this place on a horse.

We arrived at about 4pm on a Friday night and it was great! The salad bar was stocked, no wait, a few people already seated.Prime rib was not as rare as I prefer or as thick as I anticipated.Not bad, but will definitely try some others. Steak could be seasoned more for the buck.Bahama Mama is good but seemed to lack the bite of the alcohol. Yes there was a designated driver.

Service was exceptional but the food was meh. I can see why it has an average of only 4 stars. All the dinners came with salad bar which is a great feature however they mixed frisée lettuce with iceberg and shaved in some carrots, it lacked a little to be desired. The ranch and blue cheese dressings were good. The huge downfall was bacon bits instead of actual bacon. Unfortunately they must not have actual bacon because they served bacon bits in the loaded baked potato as well. The cowboy steak was gritty and a weird cut of steak. The teriyaki steak was also gritty and was two chunks of sirloin that they poured teriyaki on the top. It was not cooked in the teriyaki to be clear it was poured over an unseasoned steak before it was brought to the table. Soup was vegetable beef and the family did like it. The bread was also very good from the salad bar. This place has so much potential it’s too bad they cut too many corners.

Best salad bar in Greeley, best country fried steak in the area.
What a terrible place to go. We went here for a special occasion. We waited 25minutes to be seated. After seated we waited an additional 25 minutes and never had anybody even greet us. I got up to tell the hostess that nobody had been to our table. And even after that another 15 minutes and nothing. We got up and left. The hostess all she said was sorry. First time going there and last time.

Cattlemen is a treasure. Great steaks. Great service. A little “old timey” atmosphere, but that’s why we like it. Lower cost steak was great and plenty.Parking: Easy drive up.
