A fantastic dining experience in downtown Greeley, CO! I was traveling for business and enjoyed dinner at the Greeley Chophouse with several colleagues. The ambiance is nice, the service was friendly and well-informed on the menu and the food was delicious and made to order. The local steaks are delicious and fresh - give them a try. Don’t miss the Brussels sprouts for a side dish. The drink menu is extensive and experiential - the smoked drinks are not to be missed. The team was also helpful in recovering a lost item after I left the restaurant. Treat yourself to an excellent meal here!

The salmon mouse on cucumber slices was excellent, great savory salmon flavor.Had the pan roasted halibut, was cooked perfectly, fish was silky and fresh, although the honey mustard drizzle over it is not a good flavor combo, did not compliment each other. The smoked bacon risotto was creamy and prepared well, not undercooked.Prices were high, but the food was near or at the level of price point.Service was only adequate from the bar, since reservations were full.Would go again and try something different.

The food, the food, the food - oh my goodness, the food! It is hands down the best steak and seafood I've ever had. The servers are professional yet funny and upbeat making the whole experience amazing.

Let me just say that the 4th star belongs to our waiter Cody who made the evening a special event for us. He was professional, sweet, funny, and well versed with the menu. If he suggests the rissoto, get it. I must keep in mind that I'm originally from Texas and that I grew up eating steak, so my expectations are based on that experience, but here in Greeley, it's a cattle town as evidenced by all the cow decorations everywhere, and so I imagined that the steak business would be finely honed to perfection...so we ordered the bison bone-in ribeye for $80, Brussels sprouts and Risotto for dinner with 2 drinks, and 2 desserts. Husband had a smoked old fashioned and I had a glass of Blanton's single barrel whiskey. The whiskey was amazing. Soooo good! Husband loved the smoking box, but wasn't as excited by his old fashioned. They should leave the box of smoke on the table (note to mgmt), as it is part of the ambiance and contributes to the remaining smoked old fashioned drink experience. We asked the chef to choose the seasoning for our steak. He opted for straight salt n pepper, and it was good, but somehow anticlimactic for what we were expecting an $80 steak to be in a cowtown (Good but not great). The risotto was AMAZING though, strangely the star of the edible show for me, but I give a big BOO HISSSS to the extremely overcooked mush presented as Brussels sprouts. Not good, in fact they were so bad, I took them off my plate and put them back in the bowl they arrived in. The hollandaise sauce was not made to order and tasted of onion powder, which as you know isn't hollandaise if it is anything other than butter, egg, and lemon juice. I don't know why they call it that. They should call it yellow onion sauce or something else because it isn't like we won't know the difference. Seriously, it's like building in disappointment when you call one thing something it isn't.... For dessert, I received the cream brulee which was again, good but not great, and husband got the raspberry donut cheesecake. It was exactly what it claimed to be, but not great (again a disappointment). All was not lost though, because we still really enjoyed our time there, but as I started this review with Cody, our waiter, I'll end it with him as well...If you go here, ask for Cody. He, alone, made it worth the $150 bill we received. He would do really well in any fine dining establishment. So if you are looking for a decent steak in Greeley, Colorado, this might be the place for you. If you are looking for exceptional service from a competent, special, and professional wait-person, make sure you reserve a table in Cody's section. One final bit for the management... one of the ladies restroom toilets was broken and happened to be the one I went in. Not cool. That should be part of the pre-opening checks required at a restaurant of this caliber.

Had a great steak here. Not quite medium rare but still good. Would have given 5 stars if sides were better

The first time going there was not a good experience. Our appetizer was sent to the wrong table my steak was good but my roommate was overcooked. The bartender was awesome. But service just took so long. You would think that when you spend about 200 dollars that it would have been better

As others have mentioned the cost doesn’t reflect the quality in a lot of the dishes. We had crab cakes that you could tell had been sitting out for a bit and we’re pretty bland. The dessert was burnt (I had the croissant bread pudding) and it was charred on the outside and not very flavorful. The steak however was very much on point. Perfectly cooked and great flavor, the risotto was great as well but mashed potatoes we’re also bland. For nearly 260 dollars it wasn’t what I anticipated.

My wife wanted to go to the chophouse for her birthday last evening. We had a very busy week and have been fasting, and she deserves to enjoy herself. The appetizer was great, and drinks, too. The wait staff is good with personality, but talked too fast to understand. Her filet was wow, as were the brussel sprouts, get those crispy. However, my loaded potato arrived barely warm enough to melt butter and my barely warm 16 oz prime rib was about 6 oz of fat. It tasted OK, but I had to look at it all through dinner. I mentioned it, the young lady manager mumbled something about sorry and removing the charge, but I ate it because I was hungry and not wanting to spoil the evening. At the highest prices in Greeley, it should be better.

Sadly, I was not impressed. While everything looked nice, the taste did not live up to the hype or price. Drinks were slow to come out, as well as entrees. We were told by our server once for a bar delay and twice for food delay, which set the expectation, but once we got everything, it wasn’t worth the wait. The lobster bisque was flavorful, but overall thin like chicken broth and barely any lobster pieces in both mine and my husband’s bowls. My husband was disappointed in receiving a medium well steak when he ordered medium rare but was so hungry from waiting that he didn’t want to request another. The pistachio crusted halibut I got seemed to just have honey mustard for chicken tenders drizzled on top and I tasted pistachio in a single bite. For the price we were charged, I was shocked to receive this quality of food. Even the “specialty” Brussels sprouts ended up being charred with salt and pepper….it’s fine if it’s simple, but let the price match the quality and creativity.

We visited for the first time last night. Great atmosphere. great food, but what really set it apart was the service. Cody was our waiter and was amazing! He was professional but incredibly personable! He made fantastic recommendations on wine, steak rub and sides. He was just a delight! We will definitely be back and truly hope we can dine with Cody again.

This was our first visit. Cody, our waiter, was amazing. The food and drinks were excellent. Finishing up with the Raspberry Donut Cheesecake was like a little slice of heaven. We will definitely be back!!

So I had not been to the Greeley Chophouse since Tim sold it-what a profound disappointment. We were there on 12/23/21. We were seated at the table directly behind the "maitre d" stand. We sat at our table for over 45 minutes without even being acknowledged by ANYONE!! I finally went up to the "maitre d" and asked if we had a waitperson-he, unfortunately was clueless and had terrible body odor which lingered every time he walked by on his way to the kitchen to come back chewing on food. He finally took our drink order which did not make it to our table for another 30 minutes AFTER our appetizers. When the waitperson finally came over he apologized saying he didn't know we were his!!! Noone knew the special and had very little to offer about menu items. The food once it finally came was good but not the great caliber it used to be. There was not a waitperson in the restaurant that looked over 20 years old and none were terribly invested in what they were doing. The young man that filled our water was the most gracious and pleasant of all!!! Personally if I owned the Chophouse with its previous reputation I would at least BE IN THE RESTAURANT on a busy night-and if the owner was there it is even more upsetting that they never came to our table when it was obvious there was an issue. It is a shame that this has happened to one of the only "nice"restaurants in Greeley. SOOOO very disappointing.Pam Breen

We chose the Greeley Chophouse for a special occasion and we found the service less than special and the prices higher than comparable food at some other local restaurants, sans the white table clothes, (or paper table cloth on the booth in this instance). Our server was hard to understand as she talked very fast. We explained that we cannot understand her and asked her to slow down. She admitted she talks fast, but did not slow down. So, with us struggling to understand her, she listed the specials which included waghu steak. My partner ordered that, but at the last minute we asked for the price. So glad we did as it was $105 for that entree! That bit of information would have been less embarrassing for us if presented as she described the special. There were other miscommunications over the order and sides and a feeling of being rushed on this slow midweek evening. She checked in as we were dining, but barely broke her stride as she asked how our meals were with her presenting a thumbs up as if prompted to agree. It was not until we were done that she paused long enough for me to tell her that the wasabi mashed potatoes were not eaten because it wildly overpowered the delicate ahi steak. She said the wasabi flavor should be much lighter, but there was no redress, just handed the bill. No hurry, she said. Ironic.
