I’m writing this review with a heavy heart because I only just discovered Stockman’s Cafe, but at the end of the month (August, 2023) the wonderful owner is retiring and a new restaurant will take the place of this gem. As much as it makes me sad to not be able to have Stockman’s chicken fried steak and eggs anymore, I wish the owner well. I also wish that I had visited Stockman’s before I did, it’s that good.There is already a hole in my heart because I will miss the welcoming atmosphere and truly amazing owner. I am going to visit Stockman’s as many times as I can before they close their doors, and I hope that this review reaches even a few people who will support the owner in her last week before retirement.Thank you for the great food, the welcoming atmosphere, and all the laughs. You will be missed but not forgotten.

Tucked away in a non-descript stockyard building, and needing GPS help to find, Stockman's Cafe is just that: a cafe to service the local stockyard tradesmen and staff. Of course all folks are welcome and the wait staff and cooks are very friendly and attentive.Think "diner" but with more attention to the food selections and preparation. Plus they are good folk.We eat there often and are working our way through the menu.
