Phenomenal. My sisters and I took my 96 yr old dad here for his BD at his request. Incredible. I have had seafood in the tropics, Puget Sound, Boston, Maine, the Mediterranean and Senegal. This may have been the best I ever had. Fresh oysters, shrimp, catfish, calamari, scallops. Everybody loved theirs. Maybe this was a one-off, but I recommend you try to see if it is repeatable. The calamari was definitely the best ever and I must have ordered calamari over a hundred times over the years. Melt in your mouth tender.

The seafood Cobb salad is to die for! Also the alligator bites are so good! My only complaint is that the red beans and rice aren’t authentic to Louisiana cuisine, they’re way too thick and aren’t cooked with andouille sausage. They’d be fine without the sausage if they weren’t so thick. If you want authentic red beans and rice then check out Jesse’s Smokin’ Nola.

I was looking forward to going to Pappadeaux for the first time on my b-day. I made the reservation for my spouse sister and myself. We got there a several minutes before the reservations but we were seating with in a few minutes of arriving.

The atmosphere is nice and the service is great! However I cannot say that about the food. All three of us was disappointed with the taste and over all quality of the food especially for the price. The appetizers calamari and alligator bites were okay. The steak that I had was cooked how I wanted it (rare) but the flavor was not good.

Also we got our entrees to go as we were just feeling tired after a long day celebrating my b-day that we decided to get our entrees to go. The food was brought to our table and we left.

We got bac home only to discover that items were missing from our meal like the baked potato that was suppose to come with my meal.

If we do ever go back we will go at lunch time where the prices are cheaper and there are other items on the lunch menu (shrimp and grits) that are not on the dinner menu.
