Fantastic food! Pretty good atmosphere and service. Most breakfast dishes are $16-$22 each. It is pricey, but you get a lot of food, and it's better tasting than most other breakfast restaurants.
Excellence all around and generally consistent. There's a reason there is almost always a wait.
Best pancakes ever!!!
One of the greatest breakfast joints that exist anywhere in the country. This is one of two locations in Denver and you will get the best pancakes anywhere in the city. The bacon and squeezed orange juice aren’t to be missed, either. However, the prices are commensurate with the experience. I would expect to spend comfortably more than $60 for two people if you’re enjoying coffee, juice, and a couple of dishes.
Dutch baby pancakes are great! Come hungry. Or share. There is a lot there.
There is so much in the menu to choose from. I am not usually a meats person, but if you are, Try The Bacon! Price more in the 15 to 20. Wait was for table of 9 during morning rush. Fantastic service! 6 stars.
Good food but far too expensive. It’s breakfast, come on.
This is just a superb breakfast establishment and very able and friendly service.
Definitely a cozy looking busy breakfast place with some classic dishes. They had fun play on pancakes. We had the Swedish pancakes with lingonberry sauce, sourdough pancakes, and florentine omelet. Overall I’d say it was a relatively disappointing breakfast experience. I had to choke down a flavorless omelet, the Swedish pancakes were a chore to eat and I couldn’t even finish them. The saving grace was the sourdough pancakes. Those were acceptably ok. Overall too pricey for what it is.
Well absolutely nothing like the same restaurant in Austin. This one did not
have a senior menu! The pancakes at this location were tasty but small compared to the large pancakes in Austin. The sausage patties had a very not so great first taste compared to an after taste. Would not recommend them at all. Our server was nice and pleasant.

Great biscuits and gravy. Food is always on point. It’s our favorite family tradition breakfast place. Love the feel of comfort like you’re at grandma’s house.

A birthday breakfast tradition in the making
Took my son Sam to The Original Pancake House for his 12th birthday—his first time experiencing this Colorado breakfast institution. I’ve been many times, but this was a big moment for him. He’s now the first in our family to be initiated into the Dutch Baby club… and judging by his reaction, this might just turn into a birthday tradition.
They’ve got a few locations around Colorado—DTC, Cherry Hills, Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs. The vibe is consistent across the board: warm, bustling, and committed to doing breakfast right.
Sam went all-in on his birthday splurge—fresh-squeezed OJ, chocolate milk, and the Dutch Baby. If you’ve never had one, imagine a German pancake on steroids: airy, golden, slightly crispy at the edges, with a custardy center and layers that hold a dusting of powdered sugar just right.
The serve brought him a surprise birthday crêpe too—stuffed with strawberry preserves and lemon. I may have eaten more of it than he did. No regrets.
I ordered the traditional eggs Benedict (Sam had never heard of one), and while it was solid, it wasn’t the star of the table. Next time? I’m getting the apple pancake—one of their signature dishes I’ve heard about forever but never actually tried. Max, you’re up next… birthday breakfast at The Original?
If you’re moving to Colorado or just exploring the area, this place is a must-visit for a classic breakfast done with care. And if you’re a local like me—especially one who helps people buy or sell homes in Colorado—you know these kinds of spots are what make neighborhoods feel like home.
