So my family (wife and 7,8,12 year olds) I’ve been coming here two or three times a year for The better part of the decade. It’s one of the things we look forward to most on our trips to Gunnison.

I don’t know that we will come back after yesterday. Long story short: we were Excited to Introduce my parents to the place. Called a few hours ahead to make sure they would have a room for a party of seven. We were the first table seated. We ordered Drinks, appetizers, and meals all upfront. Warned the parents that it could be a little while because they are a small staff.

We got our drinks within five minutes, I got our appetizers within 15. This is all good and well. They had a three top, and three 2 tops come in about 20 minutes after we ordered. This is all good and well, but 90 minutes after we got our appetizers they still had not started cooking our food.

The waitress came over and asked if we’d like another round of drinks to which I declined and asked if we could just have the food to go as two hours before food is cooked is too long. At this point, everyone that came in 30 minutes after us was either finished and drinking, or gone with their leftovers. It took them about five minutes to cook our meals and win the two go bags and check arrived. The waitress simply had this to say: “have a good one.”

My wife and I have worked in restaurants Mr. lives and understand the grind and prioritizing tables… And also understand tipping very, very well. The whole experience was a lot for me to digest mentally… And it’s a shame because now our three trips a year we will probably be eating sub-par food.
You guys have to get better. This is not acceptable for a $220 outing.

Service was horrible. Took forever to get drinks and chips and salsa. Fajitas were just ok. Strawberry margarita was not good.

This pace is not what we were lead to believe was a great pace to eat. We walked in and had a disagreement with the waitress about where we sat. From there things went down hill. We are one taco and a burrito. Nothing complicated. We waited one hour and a half for the food to finally arrive. The burrito was nothing more than some chicken in a burrito shell. My wife’s taco was more of the same. The food was sub par. You want good Mexican food, come to golden. We will take you to a place that blows this place away. For about half the price. The portion sizes were small. The place in golden fills the dam plate up! We paid 82 dollars for this food. We left a good tip, despite the horrible service.
Don’t waste your time with this place. There has to be better food and service than this.

Our late lunch here was fantastic. Fresh lime margaritas were A+ and my pastor fajitas with pineapple was incredible. The vibe here is ok, it being a long narrow restaurant but the quality more than made up for it.

Pretty standard Mexican restaurant. Family run. Small but friendly. Standard fare ,though I love the Mexican tacos. Give it a try it will become a favorite of yours.

Im a traveling nurse from KY and this is Absolutely the WORST Mexican restaurant I've ever had no tables available so we was asked to sit at the stools. Not a problem we did within 5-10 gave our order. It took EXCATLY an hour later to even get our food tot he point we was late back to work and had to take our food in to go boxes.
The worst food, service and waiting time.

DO NOT RECOMMEND

Great Mexican food at excellent prices I believe this is a mom-and-pop and I think that they are the ones cooking definitely a place to revisit often

This is a family owned place. Food is always consistent and pretty good. It's a small place, ok atmosphere. The owner is great, and the prices are acceptable. It's one of my go to Mexian places in Gunnison.

Loved the food and drinks. Quite busy when we arrived so, sat at the bar. The team was attentive and would definitely go back when in the area.
