Best breakfast burrito and best coffee in the San Luis Valley!! Not to mention amazing baked goods!! Highly recommend 👍

This place is such a lovely OASIS in Hooper Junction!!! My husband and I just came through town traveling on a cross country adventure & happened to see the bakery sign. So glad we did because the breakfast was absolutely delicious, staff friendly and genuine, and the space so very charming. You can really see the heart that went into creating this place. Our family of six (kids ages 9-17) stopped at this adorable bakery on our way from Del Norte to Great Dunes National Park. We’d heard about it from the Mellow Moon Motor Lodge in Del Norte and I’d been excited about their menu for weeks.

We came in around 8:30am and were a little disappointed that they had no hot food as the cook wasn’t in yet. We were told the cook gets in between 8:30-9:00am and the full breakfast menu is available after that, but currently they only had some baked goods.

We’d bypassed full breakfast options in Del Norte in order to try this place so that was a bummer as the website says they open at 7am and there is no indication they don’t start serving their full breakfast menu until later in the day.

However, I’m from a very rural area and have done community based development work for most my life, so get that: 1. It’s super hard to support small local businesses in rural areas - especially ones offering something different for locals and visitors alike and 2. Changes and adaptations happen and sometimes you just have to show up and see what’s going on as everything isn’t always available online.

I appreciate what this place is doing and how it’s supporting local and unique economic development serving the hospitality and tourism industry in the area. The gas station is super cute and they also offer some local products you can buy like hot sauces and pickles.

We rolled with the no hot breakfast and ended up getting coffee and cinnamon rolls- they were delicious and everyone was happy. We would’ve stopped back in for lunch, but spent too long at Great Dunes and missed our window.

My 4 stars instead of 5 is only because I’d suggest making full service times available online and/or in Instagram updates so tourists like me know what to expect - especially since a lot of folks roll through Hooper on their way to the Dunes early to beat the heat.

Would definitely try it again and hope to in the future!

Stopped in while getting gas to see what the local treats were. We got a couple different flavored croissants, a coffee cake muffin, and a carrot cake cupcake. All were delicious! We’ll be stopping by again before we leave the sand dunes.

Food and coffee were amazing and service was great! It's right down the road from Sand Dunes Recreation and the national park. Definitely worth a stop in for breakfast, they have on the go options or dine-in. They also have alternative milks! Yay!

A wonderful eatery!

The coffee is great every time we’ve gone. Drip, lattes, iced drinks, they’re all super good. Breakfast burritos are delicious, but if you ever go on a day they have pot roast you have to try it!

Outstanding scratch biscuit. Everything is sourced locally. The food and the service made me feel right at home

Out of desperation to get gas, we were not expecting much. Grabbed a simple bag of chips, but quickly put them back. I realized they not only had breakfast, but they actually had made from scratch gluten-free waffles!! So yummy! And the burrito bowl was so very good and filling. Please support these people, and people like them, who care and try hard....Absolute must stop!

Hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, stop by for a good meal if you are passing through!

What a hidden gem (I think someone else said that but YES!). I cannot recommend this place enough. Food is absolutely delicious. Customer service is outstanding. Friendly. Welcoming. Delicious. Can’t ask for anything more. Definitely stop by and enjoy.

The bakery treats are so tasty and a must and the breakfast sandwiches are big and tasty. The staff is super friendly and helpful. If their breakfast and baked food are indication of their lunch I will be willing to bet their burgers are also the best around. Don’t sleep on this spot.
