I just read through all these reviews and had to respond. I've been to this restaurant a handful of times, and haven't had a bad experience so far. The staff has been super nice and the atmosphere is very inviting. The BBQ flatbread, duck wontons and lobster mac are great....But that's not why I'm writing this. I have to say that it is really sad that reviewers are giving 1 star because THEY mistakenly confused this place with the chain restaurant of the same name. Apparently this Lazy Dog (Bar and Grill) has been locally owned and operated in CO (Erie) since 1997. And now they have this location in Johnstown. I hardly think they set out to "scam" anyone, especially considering they were here first. The Lazy Dog chain restaurant founder was working at PF Changs in 1997 and opened his first Lazy Dog in CA in 2003 (info from the 'Story' section of their website). Although it is a bit confusing, there was no wrongdoing. Im sure there's a McDonald's pub somewhere that's been around for a couple hundred years.. I would hope people wouldn't burn the place down for not offering Big Macs (and for not accepting the fast food chain's gift cards)!! Personally, I was happy to find out that this restaurant was locally owned and not a national franchise. If you went here and had a bad experience, by all means, leave a bad review. But let's be fair and please not judge them for being something they're not and never were.

THIS IS NOT a Lazy Dog restaurant!!! Pay attention to the "bar and grill" label... that's a slight but important distinction. Food isn't good and atmosphere is mediocre at best. Don't be fooled into thinking you're going to a real Lazy Dog restaurant. It's a scam!!!!!

This place has gone downhill within the last few months. The food has always been good, but pricey. They used to have happy hour deals between 3-6 which was awesome. The convenience and location of happy hour snacks and drinks was good with work colleagues. But the new HH menu /pricing/timing makes it not worth it. Our group has found new places that have happy hours deals and promos that want our business as 9-5 workers

Food was ok, expensive for what you get. Service felt like a bunch of high school kids ran the place. I wish it was as nice as the lazy dog in Thornton.

Fun place to just hang out for the evening. Sat at the bar and service was great, great atmosphere.

THIS PLACE IS NOT A LAZY DOG! We had some family in town and were looking at the menu and realized it is not a real lazy dog. It is a rip off of the large chain lazy dog. The thing is, it does not tell you it is not affiliated with the real lazy dog. Definitely feels like a scam.

I am from out of state and it's my first time here. Service was great. Got right to me soon as I sat. Food on the other hand. Absolutely horrible. Looks an A++. Quality D- I ordered the brisket sandwich with beans and Mac. The brisket was so dry I had to top it with my beans. Mac had no taste what so ever. It was so watered down it taste like a plain noodle. The cook must not really care about what's going out. Taste you food before it goes out. Best on my plate was the beans.

Food was really good. The duck wontons were delicious and so was the soup. The service was fair-not great, not terrible.

Stopped for dinner with family. Cool open atmosphere. Our server was attentive and friendly. I had the crispy chicken sandwich which doesn't sound like much, but it was amazing!

This place is pretty good. The inside is your typical chain bar and grill which I don't mind. We went for lunch on a Friday and it wasn't very busy. We got really good service from our waitress as she kept checking on us and making sure our drinks were full. I had the poutine which was just awesome and I can't stop thinking about it. It was a pile of their own style fries, cheese curds, some awesome beef almost like roast beef, topped with brown gravy. The gravy had great flavor and the beef was nice and tender. The fries were crispy and the cheese curds were melted. It was delicious.

Needed to charge my rental car and that led me to Lazy Dog. Came in during an off peak time while waiting for car to charge. Greeted by the hostess and also served by her. Food was prompt and good. Also some great 90's music blasting in the background. Overall a great time. Best place to wait and get recharged - human and car. Had a Strawberry Chicken Salad and Lazy Poke.

Staff was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was basic chain-brewery type. The food quality and the taste was underwhelming. I had the blackened chicken breast on a small bag of rice with mango chutney. The portion size was small for dinner, there was not enough mango chutney, and the overall taste was quite bland. My dinner partner had the poutine and only ate about 25%. The quality of the meat was low. There was way too much cheese and the once crispy bed of potatoes became soggy and bland in the watery gravy. We left thankful for the service, but still hungry from the light portions and unsatisfied with the meal.

We got here as soon as they opened, which also meant we got great service overall. We went seated promptly, which is no surprise since we were the 2nd customers to arrive. Pros: Got seated immediately. Server was attentive and made some really good suggestions. We started with the duck wontons. When they came they were crispy and the cherry Jam that came with them gave the wontons a nice sweet taste. It wasn't overwhelming at all. I ordered the Sweet N Spicy burger cooked medium with fries. And husband ordered Pork Belly Mac N Cheese with green chili. He said he would order it again. I have to admit that their green chili was very good. My burger was cooked well, and unlike other posters who said the bun was soggy; mine wasn't at all. Maybe it's because he had no other tables?? I did though accidently get a couple pieces of the pork belly that was very good. The fries were crispy and different. Meaning they were more curled fries. Not curly fries or straight fries, but like they got twisted in the cutter. Cons: They do not accept the Lazy Dog gift cards. Be aware of that. This place is definitely more upscale than the other Lazy Dog's. It's kind of laid back, but the atmosphere is totally different. The decor is more modern. My burger, though good didn't have any spice to it. A lot more on the sweet side. I wasn't fond of the jalapeño preserve. Probably wouldn't order it again. Also this place was very pricey for what we ordered. Recommended? Yes, only if your looking for an upscale version of Lazy Dog and ok with them not accepting gift cards. We would go back again.

Lazy Dog sells gift cards that they will not honor. I have always liked Lazy Dog, good food, very friendly people, and somewhat reasonable prices. But we bought a gift card in Fort Collins for Lazy Dog, and after having a nice meal, we were informed that the Lazy Dog gift card is not accepted at this Lazy Dog location. In fact, we would have to drive all the way down to Westminster to use it. We were given a weak excuse about how this Lazy Dog location is separate from the main Lazy Dog corporation. What kind of company cares so little about their customers that they sell gift cards that they won't honor? If they have some internal politics amongst their different locations, that's fine, but why make that the customer's problem? And if this location is not a part of the Lazy Dog corporation, why are they still using the name? This experience has soured me on Lazy Dog, and I won't be back to any of their locations. Any company that engages in these kinds of bait and switch tactics is not worth my time or money.
