Wow! Absolutely fantastic!Great food, exceptional service, they even have parking and discounts for truckers.Definitely worth the stop. Don't see many places like this anymore. Old-school quality on a young man's schedule.I got a burger, fires, a soda and a piece of chocolate cake. All fast, all delicious, the employees really took care of me and made me feel like family.Wish I had a photo of the burger, but I couldn't wait that long!
I came in and tried one of the specials that Darlene made, and it was by far the best thing I have had here! I can't remember what they called it, something like "ribs with cabbage and potatoes". But if you are familiar with Filipino food- it was almost exactly the sinigang that my Stepdad makes. I'd eat that over and over again any day. Since then, I've really enjoyed all of the specials that I've tried as well as the peach pie. They hired a new cook recently, named Phoenix and she is amazing. I had the patty melt, and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly.Mary the waitress is always so kind when I come in with my kids. I will always support local businesses and I recommend that you come in and try something new. Particularly the specials! I think Darlene really thrives when she gets to be creative.
Waitress was awesome. We all felt horrible for her, their fryer was broken and we heard the manager/lady in the back laying into the waitress. Very sad and unfortunate to see and hear an employee treated the way she was. Other than that it was alright. Restaurant needs lots of repairs including pop. Which also overheard.the manager tell employee she couldn't have one it cost too much!!
very dedicated and friendly staff and service
We came to Colorado to visit our son who is in the Army, we went for some site seeing and came across Deno's restaurant. We had a wonderful breakfast, great portions and the food was tasty. Not much staff but they made it work. The pie was too die for, so good. Loved the decor, if we lived in Colorado I would definitely apply for a job at this restaurant. Keep your head up Darlene, you are doing an amazing job. Definitely would come back and visit again ?
It saddens me to see that people would rather mention everything shes is doing wrong than to be supportive of this incredibly hard working women. Makimg these over judmental, rude, comments doesnt help Darlene in any way. She is basically a ONE woman warrior, trying her hardest to keep afloat her restaurant .. thats in the middle of nowhere, and understaffed..You are not going to a five star diner.. cut her some slack. After seeing Restaurant Impossible, and watching how Darlene pours her heart and energy into trying to do the best she can with her restaurant, I would really hope that if you were aware of this side of her story we would be more caring and understanding with expectations here.
excellent green chilie and the staff is friendly. and the coffee pretty darn good also!
We really want to like this place and support local business, but the food is bland, burned, and terrible. We've tried going a few times.Staff is friendly, but service is very slow.A more clean cut dress code would be helpful. Sadly, everyone looked like they had just rolled out of bed.Decor is nice/quaint, but lots of clutter and dirty items on the work counters in eyesight of customers.Music would be a nice addition.Coloring books and crayons for the kids is a nice gesture. My daughter appreciated that. We're rooting for Deno's to improve...and the first change should be a quality cook!
We came earlier in the year and were shocked at how diverse the menu was and how awful the quality of the food was. After seeing Restaurant Impossible there this summer we thought for sure they would have better food. They definitely have a better diner look, the menu still has breakfast, Mexican, and traditional diner food (tonight’s special was “cajun” and the waitress had no idea if it was spicy) we ordered a bacon burger, grilled chicken salad, blt(no Mayo) and Mac and cheese. The burger was over cooked no flavor, the salad was iceberg lettuce with 5 slices of cucumber and a couple “ice cold” chicken nuggets sliced over the top(cost me $12) the blt had Mayo, maybe 3 slices of bacon broken up, two slices of tomato, and three good quality leaves of lettuce. The macaroni was soup and tasted like Kraft (it was only $2 and the kids did enjoy it) overall we spent over $40 so I wouldn’t have to make dinner and clean up after my children and the quality was worse than McD. Paint and new windows doesn’t make a restaurant better! Fix the menu and get a waitress who can speak above a whisper and a cook who can heat up chicken tenders for a salad and knows what proper meal portions should be.
My husband and I came here tonight and the food was great. The salsa, fries and pie were fantastic. And our waitress was excellent! We will definitely be back.
Restaurantji Recommends
Our food was very good! Their green chilli is tasty and the food is so much better than it was a year ago when we were here. We'll definitely be back.
Friendly, clean, wonderful atmosphere. Chicken fried steak dinner was comforting. Plenty of truckparking good place to dip out of the wind. Behave gentlemen there are Zumba classes in the mourning.
I don't recommend anything, complete waste of money
While traveling on 1-76 we didn’t have many restaurant choices so we decided to try this restaurant . We had to ask for coffee refills several times instead of the waitress coming to our table and filling the cups. We ordered our breakfast, one egg over medium, hash browns extra extra crispy and toast. My egg was over easy, not over medium as I had ordered, my hash browns were not extra extra crispy , the waitress said the cook couldn’t get them cooked more as that would ruin them, how she cooked them was ruined and my toast was not even brown. It was a hard piece of bread smothered in butter. The waitress was not concerned about how my meal was prepared incorrectly. I would give this restaurant a -5 if that was an option. Lucky for me I won’t have to eat there again. I would rather starve.
Long wait for food. Got a Deno’s burger which was fantastic. Also got a green chili burger which was pretty good. The green chili was very mild. The fries were fantastic.
