I’ve never seen someone seemingly NOT want business so badly. Greeted by a sign in the parking lot that there are no public restrooms and to go down the street and another sign not to bring trash into their restaurant to throw away. Alright, fair enough. Enter to a lady who immediately tells us they have a limited menu of just hamburgers. No sides. We say that’s fine. She looks at our kids kids and says no kids menu items either. Okay, cool. “Also, the burger is gonna cost ya $11. Just don’t want you being surprised. There’s a convenience type store at the hotel down the street.” Okay, lady, we get it. You don’t want us here. Now, heeding the “no outside trash” sign, we left the diaper we had just changed outside the car door so as not to stink up the hot car while eating (there were no trash cans outside)This lady, who seems so uninterested in exerting any energy other than to turn business away, takes the initiative to come outside and say “You aren’t planning to leave that diaper in my parking lot are you?” in the most accusatory tone! LOL. Seriously lady. If you don’t want to work just stay home.

We have never been here as we have always driven by, so we decided as we had our granddaughter with us taking her back home, we thought, why not. As we entered the doorways to this rusric western trading post, the waitress with green hair informed us to have a seat it was going to be a moment, so we did. The environment was clean, and as I looked around, the soda machine was out of order and the had a buffet serving station that was not in use,as the green haired waitress approaches us she said the don't have menus and our drinking options was ice tea, water or lemonade. My husband had the lemonade. I had the ice tea, and our granddaughter had a lemonade, and with a limited choice of food, we had the cheese burger with potato salad, and our grandbaby had the chicken strips with chips. I informed the green haired waitress that our granddaughter had a dairy allergy and wanted to make sure she could have the chicken strip and thankfully it all worked out after a 30-45 minute wait for our food here is our review...... our 3 year old granddaughter was well behaved our food was AMAZING WITH HOMEMADE POTO SALAD. if it wasn't, you had me fooled. lol the green haired waitress was very kind and accommodating to my grandbaby allergy needs. We saw a small town with some very nice people. The ice tea wasn't to my liking, but that's okay. The food was worth the wait, and I LOVED the waitress hair ?. She worked her butt off as she was the only one there, and only one cook, so I tip my hat to the chef. Thank you for an excellent experience. I will never forget the green hair waitress and her amazing hospitality and the cook who made our food amazing.
Kid-friendliness: Took care of allergy needs

Very disappointed. All towns are sooo far apart in this part of Colorado that my wife and I ended up driving a loop for hours through several small towns with only one or two restaurants… only to discover most are closed permanently. 6.5 hours since last Meal and we are NOT happy to discover it closed. Trip Advisor app shows it open for two more hours. Their posted hours are 7:00 - 2:00. We arrived at 1 o’clock to find it closed .
Love it. Yes they had no ice and were only serving burgers but who cares when the burgers are so bloody good. Drinks were cold enough and the lovely lady serving was so kind to the locals and not so locals. We wanted to split a burger and she brought it out on two plates for us. I heard her say they were hoping to get the repairs done in the next couple of days. What do you do when you’re out in the middle of no man’s land? A thousand times better than a franchise drive through!

The food was ok better than the T/A there's only one lady running the whole place and not so friendly and hours of operation is hit and miss also heads up no fountain drinks coffee, unsweetened tea, lemonade that's it also heads up they have a leaking roof at any point there's a possibility to see 15 pans and buckets around.
Stopped here for lunch on Memorial Day 2023. The BBQ bacon burger was pretty good. They served it on toasted (fried on grill) bread, which I actually like better than a hamburger bun. Iced tea was good. Fries were a little limp and only warm.
The reviews I read on TripAdvisor were a lie. This place is a complete & total trainwreck of a restaurant. Stopped while passing through on a long road trip because no other options were available. No working restrooms. No soda to drink. Only water, tea or lemonade. Was immediately told by the waitress that they had no chicken products, bacon or ranch dressing. Ordered cheeseburgers and fries. Then came back and said they had no fries. Should have left at that point but said we would just take just the burgers. Ended up being charged $22 for two burgers & drinks. A total rip off. My advice: keep driving.

If you want the small town “Andy Griffin” experience, it’s here. Everyone that came in knew each other, spoke about a court case and who is sick so the date may have to be rescheduled as well as the school kids game. Lol . I think many wear multiple hats there and made for good stories. Food wasn’t spectacular. Filled our bellies. But we anticipated that. Many businesses in town were closed permanently.
Racist waitress, worst experience of my life. Throwing a menu in my face. I dont know if she was having an off day but shes shouldnt be in service business. If you are a person of color don't bother to go. I order steak and ham with eggs but I just walked out after that episode
Truck Parking, Great home cooking. Hours are kinda weird but it's in the middle of nowhere, so..But dang good breakfast!
Great food, service and people! Will definitely go back when we return to visit.
The food was freshly prepared and delicious! We were sad to hear that they may go out of business due to having to close for covid for an extended period of time. Maybe someone will be willing to reinvest some money and save it, since it is such a great place and one of the only places to stop in the area.
We found this place on our way back home. Hands down, they had the best pancakes I have ever had. I've been dreaming about coming back. The service was great. I have been begging my wife for another road trip, so we can have breakfast here.
Had a great breakfast at the trading post. It's very clean and tidy inside. Good size parking lot for trucks and RVs. But the best part is the waitress/cook! Yep, she does it all. Very efficient young lady and a great cook!!
