Best food in Lafayette! Tomato basil soup is the best I’ve ever had, and don’t get me started on the cheesecake and other baked goods! New owner Chris is all in to keep the place going strong; updated decor and plants add beauty while maintaining the character of this beloved Lafayette icon.

I’ve had the eats several times over & now I’ve had the sweets! Love this place- customizable sandwiches, coffee, dessert. The banana bread is wonderful. This place is charming and beloved.

We came into Lafayette to see our friend perform at The Art Hub. We decided to have dinner in town and some dessert afterwards. So happy we found this amazing gem! The apple tarts were so delicious we bought 2 and went back and bought the 3 remaining tarts. The cheesecake and the pecan pie were also so delicious. You can tell the desserts were made with good ingredients and the best part - it wasn’t too sweet. IYKYK that this is a huge compliment. Will definitely stop by this bakery again if I’m ever up this way.

We showed up 30 minutes before they closed and were told no hot sandwiches could be made and there was only spring mix available for greens. We ordered our food and then were told we had to take it to go.

My sandwich was delicious but I couldn't get over the "Soup Nazi" attitude.

It seems like a really cool place but I doubt I'd go back after this experience.

I'm a pretty adaptable person. When my daughter's private school (Fusion Academy, very expensive, btw) was holding their "Back to Scool Night" tonight, and our daughter expressed that she wanted to go, we made it happen, despite disparate schedules. Long before attending, I looked over the menu because Fusion Academy had ensured parents that there were gluten free options. I'm not gluten free because I want to deny myself amazing bread and food. I'm gluten free because I'm on record as allergic. The food truck was parked at Fusion Academy for this event. I asked what could be made gluten free, and the lady exasperatedly explained that they couldn't give me bread, just put sandwich ingredients on a plate. Here's the deal: if I had known that there would be no accommodation for gluten free, I'd have eaten beforehand, no big deal. But I looked at the food truck website, which said gluten free options. She wasn't kind or patient or even explained why. I'm not a Karen, and I don't make other people responsible for my dietary restrictions. However, when a business advertises that they can accommodate, and your daughter's expensive school says they can accommodate, and you walk away with a tiny bag of chips for dinner, I'd say that both of these business need to reexamine the people who are willing to support them, and proceed accordingly.

Dietary restrictions: There are zero options for gluten free, despite what they advertise.

This is a delightful sandwich shop! I love to bring my granddaughters here. The new owner is wonderful.

Wow! The Peach Festival peach pie that I bought from Eats and Sweets is perfect! A lot of times, pies can be too sweet. This pie was perfect. The sweetness of the peaches and the peach icecream were balanced perfectly with the not too sweet pie crust. It felt like a Whole Foods quality pie for sure. I also had the peach empanada at the fest, and it was exactly what I was craving. The Staff at the food truck were really friendly, too! Has the ice cream changed since last year? The quality seemed better to me. Love the changes being made. Best icecream and bakery spot around.

We have been going here for 4 years during the peach festival, and it has been getting slowly worse. This year they had really tasty vegan chocolate ice cream, but no peach. They also had really mediocre peach pie. The crust is flavorless and too hard and the peaches aren't very sweet.

Dietary restrictions: They usually have one vegan ice cream flavor and this time they had a couple sorbets.

Went for lunch and the food was underwhelming. The quiche and sandwich soup combo were not great.

The store owner I believe her name is Rosie? She was so rude and disrespectful, she was very short. She really just made it a very uncomfortable experience for me and my family. On top of that the way she treats staff is unsavory. Truly very disappointed because I have heard very good things about this place.

I hadn't been to the store in 5+ years so suggested it when family was in town. I left being embarrassed I suggested it as the food was overpriced for the poor quality, as my bread was incredibly dried out and hard (like almost good for croutons hard) even though it was drenched in sauce. Another person had to get rid of part of their salad as the lettuce was brown. Ordering was confusing and nobody helped. And if you wanted water you got a cup like you are given at the dentist. I didn't try the ice cream but I am likely not going to eat there again.

We were underwhelmed at the amount if fillings in our non-meat sandwiches. One of us asked for shredded carrots and there were about 8 pieces of carrot shred, and the rest of the veggies were in very small amounts (as opposed to the half pound of meat on the meat sandwich.) The veggie sandwiches were 70% bread. We had four medium sandwiches and one drink and the total was $60 -- steep for sure, especially for what we got. Ingredients were fresh but the bread was not great. Shop is cute and we look forward to trying just the 'sweets' portion in the future.
