Gluten free is a tasteless small cardboard like pizza that is crazy expensive.
One of the best pizza places in Colorado!
The slowest service ever and the worst communication from the service didn’t even get acknowledge when we walked in the door didn’t even get acknowledged when we were leaving. The food was decent, but over the years it has gone down. I don’t know what’s going on with them. They definitely need their owners back in there. It feels like their owners aren’t around. Definitely needs help. If you wanna wait over 15 minutes for your pizza and no good Service this is your spot The bartender wouldn’t even acknowledge us after staring at us. I was like hello are we allowed to sit there was nobody in there on a Friday night .
Aiden did a stellar job of welcoming us even though we got there at 830, 30 min before close. The entire staff worked hard to feed us, make drinks and clean. We did not feel rushed. Thanks to Aiden and the other 2 young men working hard on a Tuesday night.
Good Zza! I've been going tk Protos in CO for years and they are always solid.
Anchovies!
Pizza was super disappointing. The crust was great but toppings and cheese were VERY skimpy. (And never a great sign when whoever cut your takeout pizza had real trouble with the concept of 8 equal slices!) Large Caesar was a container of chopped romaine with 2 anchovies on top. An insufficient amount of dressing-like a tablespoon, was provided on the side but no Parmesan, no croutons. Amateur show.
Love Proto's pizza, but the location in Broomfield is slightly better.
Great pizza (also very tasty gluten free pizza) although my wife brought the pizza home and the toppings were wrong but… its Halloween so guessing they were busy and missed a few things.

Food was good, not great. Clam pizza wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping for. Dessert tiramisu and cannoli were delicious! Would go again for sure, but don't need to make it a priority.
Kid-friendliness: Kids enjoyed it and it's family friendly, but not a ton of seating so not great for very large family groups.

I’m sad to have to post a negative review about one of our local businesses but I couldn’t NOT say anything either!
My husband and I encountered the most unprofessional staff member tonight.
Her name was ‘Ashley’ and she was just downright rude and obnoxious! It was 8:50, they closed at 9:30 and she was just very obviously pissed. Zero eye contact, ignored us for at least 5 minutes while she was scurrying around wiping down the bar right in front of us. Whispering to the other employees. Mind you there was still a table eating in the restaurant AND we had called b4 we walked over to make sure they were still open. They wouldn't serve us a tap beer- “taps are off” and were irritated by everything else we ordered. It was 8:50 on a Friday night!! I get it, I used to hate when people walked in last minute when I was a server/bartender but you still smile and deal
With it! This wasn’t even last minute!! It’s called customer service. Or Work the day shift Ashley! WOW ?
Unfortunately, we won’t be back!!

Service was good—friendly and attentive. Possibly the worst gluten-free pizza I have ever had, and that’s saying a lot because I’ve had some pretty bad ones.

Called in (because I was driving) asking if they have a veggie pizza, was told to check their website ourselves. Proto’s been our go-to restaurant for years, doesn’t look like they need our business anymore.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in Boulder County. Our server, Sydney, was incredibly unknowledgeable about the menu and made multiple errors, including most egregiously misstating the "$5 bartender choice" drinks. At the table, we were told it was the "vodka soda and limoncello margarita, in case that changes our minds." My sister decided to order the drink, but when I received the bill, I noticed the drink was $15! When I asked our server about the mistake, rather than acknowledge that she had misspoke, she proceeded to gaslight my table about what she had said us. The other staff members immediately jumped to Sydney's defense at the register and started berating me for questioning the price. Instead of making a scene at the restaurant, I paid the bill, but I do intend to follow up tomorrow with Proto's management. I'll update this review depending on the response I received. Also, the food wasn't great for the price.

Protos' Pizza is not bad. It's fair to middling food. What will stop us from returning is their 3% fee for "employee PTO". As anyone familiar with my reviews knows, I can't tolerate the practice of tacking on unpublished fees so a company can virtue signal. If you want to provide your employees with a "living wage", or PTO, then pay them more. If you can't do it at your current prices, raise your prices. Let the market determine if your product is worth it. Don't trick your customers into making you feel like you're good people.
So, Protos is dead to me. There are untold number of restaurants who don't lie to me.
Remember, whatever price you see on the menu, the real price is 3% more.
