I ordered the apple french toast. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But wow! I never order french toast at restaurants, but this was legendary. It’s given me hope again! (I ate this the night before hiking Mt. Elbert) It was very warm inside this place, but it’s an old building. So I’ll cut it some slack!
Didn't eat here the last time I visited, I did have a few drinks. I thought the service was poor, as the bartender (Anthony) seemed to avoid my wife and me. We were sitting at the end of the bar, and often times I would wave him down, only for him to look directly at me then ignore me. It wasn't until a local sitting next to me called out his name and asked him to come get us a drink that he gave any attention to us. Even then, he seemed irritated. Must not have wanted...
I've been trying very hard to love this place. It has so much historical significance to our little mountain town, yet it falls short in some fairly important areas.
First, the ambiance is quite nice. Really makes you feel like you're in a saloon from the late 1800's.
