Bartender was a complete jerk, beer was bland at best, don’t waste your time. Most disappointing brewery visit I’ve ever had.
And no that’s BS- you were a jerk from the start completely unprompted…
I tried to come here specifically because of the 1-star reviews (non-beer drinkers tend to judge people harsher than seasoned veterans do), and to say I've had a beer and the highest brewery.
Well, even though their Google page, website, and Facebook page all say they were open, there was nobody around. Decided to go to silver dollar and came back 1.5 hours after their open time. Still nobody.
In other news, I think the names of their beers are fantastic, and it reminds me of the restaurant Dick's Last Resort where they give you dunce caps and make fun of you - so fun. Hopefully I'll get a chance to come back and give an actual review of everything.
Beer 4/10
Service 0/10
Just head on into the Manhattan bar, timberline, silver dollar saloon anywhere else. Heck go to Safeway get a six pack and go to any amazing overlook instead.
Edit: Came with someone who also agreed with me.
Such a unique town wish this place embraced the collective cool the rest of the town has.
As a Lake County local, I would skip this place and go somewhere else.
Today, we waited about 15 mins to be greeted, the bartender then had to change the keg (no problem at all), and we waited another 5-10 mins or so. When the bartender came back, he skipped us. Again, we were fine with waiting. We were served our mediocre beers. Afterwards, we wanted to walk it off around town.
Nowhere obvious is there a sign that says, “if you leave the establishment, you must move your vehicle.” When we returned to the bar, our truck had a warning/ towing sticker on it. These are notoriously difficult and time consuming to remove. We were gone for 3 hours. We inquired with the bartender on staff who was very dismissive, unapologetic, and lacked any empathy. Truly a frustrating and negative experience at Two Mile Brewing from start to end.
Despite the close proximity, my partner and I will never be back, nor will we promote this establishment. There are far better options in town. Lesson learned.
Edit: And? We both experienced it.
Edit 2: If the owner is the one responding to the low reviews, they present themselves as an inconsiderate, unsupportive, and closed minded person. This is not a business for Leadville. To everyone reading, please spend your money somewhere else. There’s so many lovely and thoughtful business owners in town. The owner of Two Mile Brewing is NOT it.
Since the only reviews I saw mentioned them not being dog friendly at all, they have old picnic tables separated by a fence that is dog friendly. As haphazard as it is, always nice to have a dog friendly spot so gives a star bump in the rating. I won't comment on the beer since I didn't find anything I personally liked. View from the patio is solid.
Edit in response to owners comment asking how the beer was... well since you asked, the beer sucked lol. Was trying to be nice.
Edit in response to their edit.. you're right, you caught me, I was never there and I used AI to generate this picture from your patio 😂.
From a local….Serves skunked beer and if you drink here for more than an hour and walk around town they will threaten to tow your car. I regret leaving a tip. Avoid this place. I have an annoying sticker on my window now. Most of the 5 star reviews on here are paid.
Great tasting beer,if you from outa town, don't forget to drink, high quality H2O,before or after a pint, elevation buzz!!!
Final edit: Look at the responses from the owner to other customers who rated him 1 or 2 stars. All having to do with poor service, rude management, and disrespect for service animal owners. Shows you exactly the sort of business owner he is in Leadville. So many better options in Leadville than this joke.
2nd edit: after deleting his initial response claiming that he’s going to ban all pets, his second response is now mocking me for needing a service animal. Note that there are many other one star reviews that reflect his poor customer service and attitude. Fortunately there were several other bars nearby that gladly let my dog on their patio, proving this owner doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Several other spots with patios in Leadville to get a beer. I’d avoid this place. 1) lets not pretend like there’s actual food. Mozzarella sticks and fried pickles is not a menu. 2) let’s also not act like this place is dog friendly. Asshole bartender claimed my service dog was not “legit” and that the certification I have for him was “a scam”. Despite there being ample outside seating for dogs (which is the minimum a business needs to provide,) he made us sit basically on the road. 3) his overall service letting us know these “rules” was pretty rude. Touch grass and get a life.
Edit: prohibiting dogs at a brewery in a mountain town is a stellar decision for business. Just admit you’re afraid of dogs.
Also what behavior? We asked a simple question and you apologized for taking it out on us.
Quick chat with the bartender, great guy! Beer just as good, nothing fancy but didn’t come here for that. Thanks for the good chat and delicious beer! 🍺
We saw that there was a brewery in leadville and decided to give it a try. Great conversation and everyone was really cool, I loved the porter and my fiance loved the camp ale. I had a great time and we'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area again!
