Such a niche little restaurant. Loved everything about this place, the menu is largely creative and Denise was knowledgeable about every item.

A fun and tasty Restaurant to visit. Oysters on the half shell are great. The clam chowder is also top notch.

I had a quick business lunch here this week. Oysters, chowder, and fish sandwich were amazing. Great service and atmosphere. A long time favorite of our! Also be sure to check out Oliver’s Italian part of the same restaurant group!

We have been to BIO about a dozen times over the past few years and they never disappoint! The food is fantastic, staff is always friendly, and it's always busy which tells you they must be doing something right! Keep up the great work Blue Island and we'll see you on the next family night out!

Kid-friendliness: Great with kids, great menu for kids who are picky eaters!

The food was pretty tasty but it’s really overpriced. I got a knuckle sandwich which is their happy hour “smaller” lobster roll for $20 and it was literally just a regular sized dinner roll (like a Hawaiian roll size). For $20! Their happy hour oysters were really good, great mignonette, BUT not one of the dozen was shucked correctly. We had to scrape it off with our forks.
The service was just ok. He was nice but he took so long to get back to our table and it wasn’t busy at all. I think there were only 2 or 3 other tables occupied in the whole restaurant.
If the portions were a little bit bigger and the service was better then it would’ve justified the high prices.

My wife and I have been talking about eating here since it opened. We live just down the street...
We were very impressed with everything! Blake gave very attentive and impressive service. The food was amazing! We started with the oysters so outer teenagers could try them. That was interesting!
We can't wait to come back and try one of the many other many items that caught our eye!

We’ve been to the downtown location at least 8x and the Lone Tree location 3x. downtown location is WAY better. Classier feel, fresher fish, and the meals are prepared like you would expect from fine dining. Veteran’s Day special for my husband was exceptional and top notch. Everytime we’ve been to the Lone Tree location we expected the same but disappointed 3x in a row. The seafood is so dry or rubbery (overcooked), dinner servings seem smaller, veggies are drowning in oil and fries are stale. The Lone tree location feels like a glorified family-friendly chain restaurant, if you know what I mean. The cheap chairs and loud high school music ruin the decor. Not complaining about the service; it’s been good at both locations. But the food quality and ambience at the Lone Tree location is so inferior to the downtown location. After the third time of trying to give the Lone tree location a chance, we’re done and will stick to downtown, even with the sucky parking. We just get a much better meal and experience for our money there.

We have been to Blue Island Oyster Bar many times, but never to the one in Lone Tree. We had a group of 6 for Thanksgiving and it wasn't particularly busy. Our server was very nice, but not a good server at all. Now, the food...it was so bad. First, the raw bar - if you are going to have "oyster" in your name, then your oysters better be shucked properly. The oysters were not cleaned properly and there was a lot of errant shell. The little necks were inedible and when we told the server about it, they were not taken off of our bill. I lived in New England and have eaten many a little neck. They should never taste fishy and sour. Now, for mains - a few people from our party did the Thanksgiving menu. The food was underwhelming overall and one of the dishes was not prepared as requested; she asked for no mushroom glaze and the crab cake on the side. Came with mushroom glaze and the crab cake on the steak. The remainder of us did only raw bar and apps. The peel and eat shrimp was delicious! The shrimp cocktail wasn't deveined and cleaned properly. The spinach dip was disgusting, point blank. And the calamari was so sweet and the sauce made it soggy. The cocktails and wine were excellent. All in all, we all agreed to never come back, which sucks because I usually appreciate seeing ME and MA oysters on a menu. Do better.

Grilled Spanish Octopus was delicious. The fried calamari was good but almost too sweet. Maybe ask for the sauce on the side. The Deviled Eggs were a bit messy to eat. The Blue Island Diver's Platter had a huge bed of fries, a tiny cup of slaw, and all fried items were almost indistinguishable.
