I used to like Mountain Sun when I lived in Boulder and went there often. Last time I went to a version was Denver before the pandemic and I wasn't impressed. A lot seemed to have changed, the burger wasn't the same as it used to be. I'm in Longmont now and figured I would give Longs Peak a chance. Nowhere on their menu or website does it mention that they close their kitchen at ten and stay open for pizza and beer until eleven. So walking in hoping for a burger...
So the rating is going to be odd. We got great service. Sat down and started reading the menu. They don't take credit cards or debit cards. I only spend money by credit card. Didn't try the food, but i heard great things.
The food was delicious. We had the spinach artichoke dip with flat bread. It was the best version of this dish I have ever eaten - and I am 65 years old. The flat bread alone is worth a trip to this place. We also had a margarita pizza which was minimal style but delicious. The red sauce ranks with the best ever made. It (the pizza) is made with fresh mozzarella and enormous basil leaves.
