As a Gulf Coast native, I had high hopes for my third visit to this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a letdown once again. The food was bland, and I can confidently say it’s some of the worst tasting fare I’ve encountered. While it might appeal to those unfamiliar with authentic New Orleans cuisine, it falls far short for anyone who knows what real flavor is.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, expecting a hearty dish, but what I received was a disappointment. The grits were topped with tiny, unseasoned sausage pieces and an overwhelming cup of sweet red peppers that completely overpowered any potential flavor. The shrimp were poorly prepared and lacked the necessary seasoning, making the entire dish tasteless.

Additionally, I tried the beignets, which were extremely dense and nothing like the light, fluffy treats you find in New Orleans. They were a far cry from what I expected, leaving me even more disappointed.

To make matters worse, I had communicated specific requests to my waitress, asking to leave certain items off my plate, but those instructions were ignored. When I expressed my concerns to the cashier, I was met with indifference—no effort was made to involve a manager or address my dissatisfaction.

Overall, this restaurant may cater to those who have little experience with true Gulf Coast flavors, but as someone who knows and loves that cuisine, I cannot recommend it. If you’re looking for authentic taste, keep searching; this place won’t satisfy your cravings.

Food: As a person from and lived in Southern MS, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge, this is not Creole food. Some iiltems look the part, but doesn't taste like it at all. I had the beignets. They were not flavorful and they are not served hot or warm. The shrimp and grits don't taste like any I have ever had at a restaurant or made myself that are Creole. The potatoes were red as if seasoned, but were not seasoned. The complimentary biscuits are not served warm either. Also, you have to pay a separate cost to add each thing to the omelet above what it comes with (e.g., you have to pay for peppers, then tomatoes, then cilantro. You can't pay a single price to add vegetables)
Service: the server was okay. Once we got our food, we were on our own. I asked for something and waited forever and to remind him.
If you know and are looking for authentic Creole food, this is not it.

Creole cuisine in Colorado? This we had to try!

Loved the decor of the place and the service was great!

Items we ordered as of 6/2025:

- Beignets - $7.99 - Delicious and a must have. Not too sweet with a lovely pillowy center! With coffee this is a slam dunk. Just don't make the same mistake I did and blow on it to cool it down (powdered sugar EVERYWHERE).

- Blackened Salmon - $18.90 - Great blackened flavor. If you like Cajun blackened flavor then you'll love this. Salmon perfectly cooked as were the eggs! Cajun home fries was pretty good especially if you like that Cajun seasoning.

- Country Fried Steak - $16 - This was absolutely delicious. The sausage gravy was rich with a nice spicy kick to it and the steak itself was very tender and fried to perfection. I would 100% order this again.

- Complimentary Biscuits - Huge and delicious! The buttery crispy exterior gives way to a soft crumbly interior. Quite satisfying.

Overall we were quite happy with our meal and would happily return next time we're in the area!

The Breakfast burrito was a special and it was excellent. My husband says their donuts were equal to the burrito caliber of food. He also said his potatoes were amazing. I had the donuts. Really liked them, they aren’t donuts though, more like fried bread, excellent. I got the creamed spinach with shrimp and poached eggs with grits. Everything in this dish was cooked very safely in the realms of flavor. Poached eggs were perfect! It was served with a biscuit that was also on point.

Food was ok. And our waitress was extremely nice we ordered grits, thinking they would be in a bowl, but it was on the plate. Very sloppy appearance and grits tasted awful

Went to the Boulder location many years ago and was really happy to go again. Went in for breakfast with my son and both of us were really happy and stuffed when we left. Loved the coffee and the food. We got a biscuit and grits and the eggs new Orleans. Loved the eggplant in the dish. My son who normally avoids vegetables loved it too. The coffee reminds me of home.
Was full but the service was prompt and really quick. Will go back with the whole family soon.

Kid-friendliness: Son loved it. He loved the decor and kept looking at so the cool things they had.

First time at Lucile's. Very good food and service. Fun experience. Look forward to going again and trying one of their Eggs Benedict. I had the yummy gumbo and a biscuit. ( if you get a biscuit, don't forget to try the jam, I bought a jar to go) We had a group of 16 and the server did a wonderful job!

What a find! I recently spent some time in new Orleans and this place took me right back! They were so busy that I'm surprised the server did as amazing as she did. She certainly did her best and she deserves 5 stars but they were so busy she didn't have time to chit chat. The coffee was exceptional to say the least. Authentic to the Louisiana chicory styles, house blends etc. The beignets were pillowy and a perfect combo with the coffee. The amount of guests filling the restaurant prevented us from receiving our beignets as an appetizer so I almost took a huge bite as soon as I got them however my companion mentioned we needed a photo op first. Spoiler alert, they are phenomenal. They also have several crawfish specials and many fantastic traditional American breakfast options. I could not even finish my meal and I ate it later cold and it was still delicious. For me that's a sign that the food is genuinely fantastic. I wish I lived in the area just to try everything they had on the menu. Cons....super busy and may have to wait a while to be serviced then served. Also space is not excellent at this location so you may feel slightly cramped...for food like this id say it's worth the wait. You could easily call in for a Togo coffee and some beignets and be very satisfied.

I have been to Lucile's in Boulder, but did not know there was a bigger one in Longmont. Great attentive service for a Cajun breakfast/brunch. The Gumbo was really good, as was the hot Loisiana sausage, and amazing biscuits. We will be back soon!
