The Roost is incredibly accommodating when it comes to food allergies and special dietary needs. Due to chronic health issues, I’ve had to eliminate many foods from my diet, which makes eating out stressful and often isolating. My husband reached out ahead of time and was connected with the head chef, Leslie, who went above and beyond and offered to create a custom off-menu meal just for me. It was DELICIOUS, beautifully presented, and completely safe for my dietary needs.
The manager and chef even personally checked in with us throughout the meal which meant so much. Truly exceptional hospitality and a totally unique level of genuine care. I’m deeply grateful, and we’ll absolutely keep coming back. Hands down the best food and atmosphere in Longmont.

Our family came in shortly after holding a service for our late father, so it was already an emotional and difficult day. Unfortunately, what happened at this restaurant made it even worse.
My grandmother sat down in one of the dining chairs, and it collapsed beneath her, sending her falling backward. She nearly hit her head on the sharp edge of a nearby coffee table. It was frightening and could have resulted in a very serious injury.
When I tried to speak with our waiter about what had just happened, he raised his voice and said his manager was “aware” but that he personally “didn’t know anything,” and then he walked away while I was still trying to talk to him. This was a 14-person table — how a server can be unaware that a guest at his own table just fell to the floor is beyond me.
No one offered reassurance. No one took responsibility.
What made this even more shocking was what happened at the end of the meal: they brought my grandmother her check. No apology. No concern. No attempt to comp her meal after she had just been hurt on their property.
When we tried to address it again, the waiter disappeared and never returned to our table.
Both the waiter and the general manager had multiple opportunities to handle this with basic care, professionalism, and empathy. Instead, the situation was ignored.
To have this happen immediately after gathering as a family to honor our father’s life felt like a final slap in the face to an already painful day.
We will not be returning. More importantly, my grandmother is in significant pain, and we are considering our next steps.
I truly hope no other family has to experience this level of negligence and lack of compassion.

The service was okay. It wasn't horrible but the waiter kept forgetting items for the table. The food I wasn't impressed at all. I've eaten there before and it was really good and this time this wasn't the case. I'm going to give the place another try. Maybe they were just having an off day.

Although I live nearby I had not tried the rules to some friends recommended it. Very eclectic menu thoughtfully done the food was excellent. The atmosphere at lunch was busy but you could still have a conversation. Dining companion what is a foodie who the staff recognized and greeted with enthusiasm it took care of her special needs cheerfully. I definitely will be back
