We ate at The Roost and left very disappointed. The Bangin Cauliflower, Chipotle Queso, and beer selection were solid, but the rest of the meal was a letdown. The Sous Vide Sirloin was tough, chewy, and unpleasant. The Jumbo Crab Cake added nothing, and the Lettuce Wraps were made with chicken thigh instead of breast, which ruined the dish for us. We visit Longmont several times a year and The Roost used to be on our list. After this experience, it no longer will be. The only bright spots were the nice ambiance in the main dining area and Stephen, who was an excellent server.

We had dinner & drinks Sat 8/23/25 at The Roost bar & restaurant in the creative & historic district of Longmont, CO. Big & boisterous place with bar, two dining areas & an outdoor deck in back. We sat at the bar and were immediately acknowledged by the bartender, "PM M"? (no name given). We ordered our first drinks, local Left Hand Milk Stout ($7.50) & Pinot Grigio ($9) while looking over the menu. Dinner drinks were the local Dale's Pale Ale ($5) & another pinot grigio. Dinner was scallop chowder ($8/12) & a Cubano sandwich ($18). I really like a good Cubano and I ordered it because it was made the right way with marinated mojo pork + black forest ham + white cheddar + pickles + garlic mayo + yellow mustard + crisp telera bread. Excellent! Dessert was a refreshing lemon tartlet ($12). Expansive menu with lotsa apps, something for all tastes. Street parking was full on this Saturday evening, but there is an ample public lot in the alley parallel to Main St. Hours: Sun-Thu 11am-9pm, Fri & Sat 11am-10pm. Happy Hour M-F 3-5pm. A good first impression. Thanks again to the friendly & excellent bar staff. Nick & Liz, Albany, NY, USA

Super disappointed, as we've been wanting to come here for years. TL;DR - If you want to have a meal at a place where the menu was *clearly* curated by consultants trying to be 'innovative', then this is the place for you. The choices are all over the place (and not in a good way), combinations of flavors are interesting (again, not in a good way), and when the side is the star of the plate, you know you have a problem. The short rib poutine looked like dog food on top of shoestring fries (heads up - the potatoes are as much a star of the show in poutine, as the meat). The flavor of the braised beef demi was mid and very tomato-paste flavored, and I didn't see a single cheese curd in the pile. My Thai pork tacos were not well-balanced with the ingredients. There was way more pork than anything else, and the pork was flavorless. The side choices were also not congruent with the dish: house salad, caesar salad, tomato soup, or scallop chowder with thai? Ew. The scallop chowder was sadly the best part of my meal. My husband's cuban sandwich was just plain weird - the citrus of the mojo pork did not go well with garlic mayo and yellow mustard and it just felt discombobulated. Don't try to be 'edgy', just give me a cuban sandwich! He, too, felt his side caesar was the star of his meal. Our server was kind and attentive, and the back patio is nice. Do yourself a favor and keep walking north to Pumphouse - You'll be much happier!

The food was fantastic and the server made us feel like we chose the best things every time. We ate inside but there was plenty of fresh air since the windows to the street were open.

Perfect American style. I love this kind of restaurant/ pub. I had a dinner with a colleague trying different things and everything was very good. I suggest to go there if you visit US

We came here for a work social and sat in the rooftop patio. The vibe is awesome, our server and service were great and so were the food and drinks! 🍻 We 💛 Longmont & The Roost!

This is a wonderful restaurant! The food is delicious and the service attentive and friendly. Our server was Alyssa, she was fantastic. We had the chicken flautas - delish, farm veggies with burrata, the salmon, sea bass, scallop chowder, and chicken sandwich. Everything was great. The decor is fabulous and the rooftop patio so nice.

All the staff are so helpful and friendly and the food is amazing. I'm traveling for work solo so it was nice to joke and chit chat with some lovely people over some great food. Highly recommend the Short Rib Poutine, the Bourbon Burger and the Jalapeño Margarita. I'll probably go back a third time before I leave. 10/10 ☆s

Sat at the bar, food (bang bang cauliflower) was quite good, I've made it myself, service was excellent, reasonable prices, I'd definitely go again. Everyone very hard working and efficient. Only problem was the two young women next to me were literally yelling their conversation, I could even hear what they were saying
